I'm about to lay down the largest wager of my life. I have inside knowledge on this game, and it isn't good news for the Ball St. Cardinals. I received this information from an inside source on the team. I will not disclose the info, but it has do to with suspensions for the game. Good Luck.

Nothing is a SURE thing... But this is about as close as they come. Anyways, I'm placing 20 Units on the IOWA Hawkeyes (-39) tomorrow.

20 Units IOWA -39 :scared

you could suspend the entire ball state team and replace them with 22 true freshman and you wouldnt know the difference. ball state is terrible regardless. i dont think the competition or who ball state puts on the field tomorrow is going to matter. it all comes down to how iowa state chooses to play the game. will they be motivated to win by 40+? or will they be content to dominate and win 41-6?

GMANN - I strongly disagree with your comment. I went to Ball State and know the program more than anybody.

Ball State is horrible... But their even worse when some of the best players won't even suit up. Iowa will roll through this depleted squad like a knife through butter. Ball States 2nd string couldn't beat Warren Central (Indianapolis High School) on a good night.

Iowa will win this game by 50 or more... Count on it.

A rebuilding Ball State University football team will face its first challenge ? and arguably its largest ? in week one of the 2005 season. The Cardinals, which went 2-9 last season, travel to Iowa City to face the defending Big Ten Conference champions and nationally-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes capped their 2004 season with a win over Louisiana State, 30-25, in the Capital One Bowl and finished the season ranked eighth in the country.Iowa is again ranked heading into this season, 10th by the coaches poll and 11th by The Associated Press poll. The Hawkeyes are also expected to once again be in the running for the Big Ten championship, along with Michigan State and Ohio State.?We?re just going to try to maximize everything we do as a football team,? Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said. ?I?m sure we?ll have some surprises.?Ball State, meanwhile, faces another rebuilding year. The Cardinals will once again rely on a young lineup, especially on offense.Three freshmen are scheduled to start on the offensive line, but the opposite side of the scrimmage line won?t be much more experienced for the Hawkeyes. Iowa?s starting defensive line includes a freshman at tackle, and both defensive ends are sophomores.

?Any time you graduate four seniors [as we did last year], it?s an area that we?ll have to follow very closely,? Ferentz said. ?I?m sure it?s going to be an area of interest for the Ball State team, and it?s an area of interest for us.?

The Hawkeyes will also be without starting cornerback Antwan Allen, who was suspended for the game after being convicted of breaking another student?s jaw in November, among others.

Still, Ball State faces a tall task playing in Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes have won 25 of their last 27 games at home since 2000.

?I think it?s exciting,? Ball State coach Brady Hoke said. ?When you go to that stadium and the opportunity, there?s such a great tradition that they have.?

Ferentz is in his sixth year at Iowa, and he said he could relate to what the Cardinals have been going through lately. In his first three years, the Hawkeyes record was 11-24. Since then, the program has turned around, and has gone 31-7.

Hoke, who faced Ferentz on a yearly-basis while coaching at Michigan, gave the Iowa coach credit for turning around the Hawkeyes.

?They?re one of the best-coached teams that you?re going to find,? he said. ?We always said that at Michigan.?

Senior quarterback Drew Tate returns after being named a member of the All-Big Ten First Team.

?He?s really practiced well,? Ferentz said. ?I thought he did a good job last fall. He was a young player last year, and he?s learned from the experiences of last year.?

Hoke said the team is ready for the season to start.

?There?s a lot of excitement and a lot of anticipation,? he said. ?You need to go hit somebody else. You get tired of beating on each other, so we?re looking forward to it.?

IE2002,

I already knew this. But what it doesn't disclose is who will be suspended. I know the answer and it's not good news for Ball St. Some of their top players will not be playing tomorrow.

Ball State is horrible

isnt that what i just said? they had three good players last year - a superstar and two above average players. now two of those guys are in the nfl and the others gone from the team.

they have nobody. theyre terrible

therefore, theres nothing to disagree with.

Allen is out for Iowa but the secondary has a ton of skills to back it up. It is the DLine that is questionables since nobody on the D Line has started a game. But it doesn't matter against Ball St. I don't see Ball State scoring more than 7 pts. It is up to Iowa to score 40+. GL!

GMAN - Stay off my threads. I don't like you. :thefinger Even a fool knows it is easier to play against someone?s 2nd string than their first string no matter how bad they are. This is why I disagree with your comment. I'm not going to explain it anymore. I put this out there for other people to look at it. If they want to follow, that is their choice, if they don't so what. I already placed my money.

Thanks for sharing the info. I put a small wager on Iowa. Love stuff like this. Since I already have enough $$$ out this weekend I went small.

I also agree with you 1st string starters are better than 2nd string players. We all know Ball St. doesn't recruit like USC, Miami, OU, LSU etc where they have depth or maybe even 2nd string possibly being more talented.

I rather play against a team missing starters than a team missing backups. :)

I'll be cheering for your 20 unit win! Also good luck to the IRISH!

we both agree that ball state sucks and that iowa should dominate tomorrow.

and youre bitching at me for agreeing with you

how DARE i have the audacity to agree with you!

best of luck tomorrow my man

Thanks - Guys. The game is OFB now. Hopefully, everyone got a chance to put some money on the hawkeyes. I played tennis at BSU, and I was talking with my coach and half of the football will be suspended with some tennis players for a book scandal. What BSU is doing is suspending the best players for this game and suspending the 2nd string during MAC season, because they're expected to lose this game. This is why I consider it to be a LOCK. GL to all

The football players suspended for Saturday's game include the top returning rusher from last season, Charles Wynn, and the top returning receiver, Bryan Williamson. Others listed as starters on the Cardinals' pre-game depth chart are defensive ends Cortlan Booker and Temidayo Macarthy, defensive backs David Gater and Randell Means, defensive tackle Tom Kellar, offensive guard Justin Schneider.

Also suspended were linebackers Donta Smith and David Denham, receiver Louis Johnson, defensive end Amara Koroma and defensive back Lavell Mosley.

bsu, my whole point and sorry and aploize(sp) for interrupting your thread with the link was that "persons that make sorta big wagers" per se .....news of upcoming suspensions as of last monday, and actually before that 28 hrs prior to 2 news releases.....why bet the game without all the variables out there?

best of luck on your play, i hope iowa cashes bigtime for you.
