Phillies -134 +100
Mets +169 -100
Royals +158 -100
Toronto -147 +100

So my total is still +8058. Is my math wrong??

Here is my question. Do you risk $100 dollars a game or do you play to win $100 dollars a game. For example take Toronto -147 from above. Did you lay down $100 dollars to win $68 or did you lay down $147 to win 100. What about the Mets +169 from above. Did you lay down $59 dollars to win $100 or did you lay down $100 to win $169.

I'm just kinda confused how much you play per game and I just wanted to clear things up. thanks

It seems pretty obvious that I bet $100 on each game. I don't see why it matters. If you look at my figure each day,(which obviously alot of people do) it shouldn't be hard to figure out. This is why I just post plays and not alot of text. It just gives people something to bash or complain about. I'm not trying to pull the whool over anyone and exagerate my winnings. What do I have to gain by that? These are the games I bet and I don't charge a dime! I'm over $8000 in baseball this year and I'm explaining this????

Shockzone...I realize you are just curious about how certain cappers such as Titus calculate their totals.

1) Titus is very good and disciplined. His YTD total is evidence enough...and just to calm your curiosity, he has no reason to boost his record. He does not know anyone personally (or at least most posters on here).

2) He is very simple in his posts. He lists the games he likes and the lines he takes them at. Take Friday's games for example:

Phillies -134 +100
Mets +169 -100
Royals +158 -100
Toronto -147 +100

Think of his plays as units. He lays one unit down on each game. For favorites, a play is obviously to risk the juice + 1 unit to win 1 unit. For dogs, you lay one unit to one unit + juice. And a gambler's units can be whatever you want them to be...$10, $50, $100, $1000. Whatever your bankroll permits, but it is on an personal basis.

So look at Friday's games again, using $100=1 unit for simplistic explanation:
a) The Phillies were favorites (-134), so Titus lays $134 to win $100. They win, so he wins 1 unit=$100
b) Mets were dogs (+169), so Titus lays $100 (1 unit) to win $169. THe lose so he loses $100.

Because his picks were 2 dog losers(-$200), and 2 favorite winners (+$200) he was even for the day. Its somewhat hard to understand as a beginner I realize, but you ABSOLUTELY cannot have a system where your picks are to WIN a certain amount as opposed to a sound system where you strictly make each play for one unit.

Just for explanation sake, lets say the two favorites lost and 2 dogs won yesterday...therefore:
a) Phillies -$134 ($134 to win $100)
b) Mets +$169 ($100 to win $169)
c) Royals +$158 ($100 to win $158)
d) Blue Jays -$147 ($147 to win $100)

If this were the scenario, his total would have been +46 ($46) for the day.

I can easily see how cappers that are kind enough to post their plays and ask nothing in return get frustrated with others who question their records/posts/etc...if those who ask take the time to go back and check his plays, they will see if a capper's plays are winners or not...

I can also see how the less experienced bettors that come to this site are speculative of who to follow, etc., and therefore should not be discouraged from asking questions. I am writing this to help bring those two gaps together. Hope it helps.
