I was very upset when their #1 DT got hurt. Practice reports for UCLA were not positive and I heard UCLA WR's were underachieving. Problem with them is they do not get separation. On flip side SDSU practice reports have been positive and I have a bad feeling UCLA squeaks out a win. I am hoping UCLA wins by 7-10pts!!!

you very upset when # dt got hurt? please, i'm a ucla fan and i wasn't upset. i mean injuries occur all the time but this season there is depth on d-line.
plus, where did you see these reports? i am a subscriber to rivals /bruin blitz. never did they mention wr. were underachieving.
play who want but facts & opinions are mixed up in your post...

There have not been positive practice reports for UCLA. Multiple players dinged up in last few weeks. I bet 1k on UCLA -7 with a healthy team. I am not going to risk 1k with their best DT out and not many positive practice reports. I was told the UCLA WR's have not impressed and have big problem with separation. Like I said earlier, on the flip side, SDSU has had positive practices and I am afriad their talented RB Hamilton will have success running against UCLA. These are the reasons I bought it back. If I had to choose, I think UCLA covers.

Maybe you are impressed and UCLA wins by 20. I am just not willing to risk 1k on it like I originally was.

Thanks for the post and hope UCLA covers for your sake. I am rooting for them! For some reason I root for UCLA and ND, the 2 USC rivals.

Late last night added 4 units Syracuse -2 over WV. (betcris) I see it is now -3 so I am glad I took it last night. I could have had -1.5 if I pulled trigger earlier in week. I would buy it to -2.5 -120. Good luck to everyone on Syracuse. A lot of optimism at Syracuse right now.

I guess you were right. I cost myself from making 2units on UCLA buying it back. But I had it to win 2 units on UCLA and risked 2 units on SDSU.

I thought SDSU offense moved the ball well. Their QB made poor decisions. If SDSU didn't give up the big plays and not commit the turnovers, I think SDSU might have covered the spread. So I guess I should be too upset for buying my bet back. :) But still cost myself from making 2 units.

Added 4.2 units WV +2.5 2h over Syracuse (pinny)

Now I am rooting for WV but basically cancelled my bet.

The Syracuse QB and offense is pathetic. I am lucky to even have the opportunity to cancel my bet. If the Syracuse QB didn't throw the INT for TD, might be different ball game but I am not risking it.

Added 1 unit WV pk -110 2h over Syracuse! (mybookie)

edit, made error in units added for WV +2.5

Adding 3 units WV pk -110 2h over Syracuse (pinny)

This makes a total of 4 units WV pk 2h and 4 units WV +2.5 2h. But I already had 4 units Syracuse -2 for game.

To anybody who took my advice and lost on BYU let me tell you I handicapped it well. BYU got into the red zone 5 times during the game. That is exactly what I hoped for. Bad news is BYU didn't execute and the refs often called "holding" penalties against BYU. Remember, the refs were ACC refs. I did not cap that.

Don't get me wrong, BC is a good team and prob. deserved to win. Maybe not cover. Take a look at these facts. BYU twice as much yardage, 2X time of possession and 4X penality yards. We were on the right side with my big BYU wager. Sometimes you still lose despite being on the Right side.

Wisconsin was easy easy easy. I'll wager 4-8 units in a heartbeat anytime a team has such a huge advantage in rushing. I knew Wiscy would rush at will and wear down the BG defense. That is exactly what happened and we got the easy cover. Now it wasn't looking pretty in 1q but I was not worried. I was surprised how well the BG offense played and how poorly the defense was of Wiscy. But maybe the Wiscy D isn't too shabby and credit is deserved for BG offense. I will be betting often on Wiscy this year. They will surprise and I guess they surprised most on Sat because most people had BG + the short #.

Ohio was a $hitty 3 unit play. I did not watch the game but from the score looks like I was DEAD wrong with that pick. $hit happens.

UAB was easy cover. UAB is solid team and TN is over-rated along with a bunch of BIG 12 and SEC teams. Happens every season. Too bad game was not at UAB otherwise I would have pounded them.

UCLA was easy cover but unfortunately I did not benefit. I bought it back but did not lose juice so I was happy UCLA covered. :) I was worried about SDSU moving the ball on UCLA D. They actually did move ball well but UCLA made big plays all game long. Props to UCLA and I missed out on 2 units profit.

Houston did not cover but I think I had that game pegged. Just did not work out. Houston did poor job executing. I did buy it back for huge 10pt middle in 2h but did not get it. Lost juice. I seem to NEVER win these middles but 10pts was a $hit load and I had to give it a try. Especially when i was confident Houston was going to lose but still thought they lose by less than 10pts.

WORST HANDICAPPED GAME SO FAR was my big 4 unit LOSS with Syracuse. WOW did that stink. Never been so wrong. Score completely misleading. WVU dominated. Syracuse QB is horrible. This is the big risk of betting big in week 1. I lucked out and WVU was tied at half, mainly because of turnovers and missed FG at end of half. I was able to not only buy my bet back at +2.5 but also put 4 large units on them pk. If this game was during the middle of the season and I had a bankroll of winnings, I prob. would have put 10 units on WVU 2h. But this was week 1 so 4 units was enough. But that was easy. I pray anybody who jumped on board read my thread at halftime and took WVU 2h. If not, I apologize.

Also lost 2 units with Tulsa +17. I was happy with their play but they gave up too many big plays @home and made costly turnovers @home. Take that away or minimize it, I think Tulsa covers the 17 easily. That Minny RB is a stud. Did not think he dominate like he did. Minny looked sharp and I was warned about Minny winning big in OOC play. Wish I was warned about NC St. lack of discipline and horrible QB Syracuse has. Or the ACC REFS in the BYU/BC game. :)

NC ST. should have been an easy win but instead I had to sweat bullets. I will think long and hard before I bet on NC ST. again. STUPID TEAM with players who make STUPID DECISIONS. Team play was very good and they are better than V-Tech who is ranked in the top 10. Money to be made betting against V-Tech this year. This game will add to the value of future betting against Tech!

If BYU covered, this could have been the MONSTER weekend I was looking for. From the stats I pointed out, BYU SHOULD HAVE COVERED THE #. Not BC. I still won a lot but easily could have swept my big plays and been up over 20 units after week 1 of CFB. Guess it was not meant to be but I am happy at the end results.

I love my plays tom. and good luck to all those who jumped on board. Going to be a real profitable season and I will continue with write-ups. Remember to get your plays in early and reap the rewards. I would have lost NC ST. if I bet it 2-3 weeks later. I still would have bet NC ST. +3.5 if that was the original line. But maybe for 3 units instead of 5. Tonight I put 2 plays in because I know line would move. Gotta do it week in week out or you will lose out on value. Must have accounts at PINNY and or BET CRIS. Not trying to come across as a "know it all" just letting you know how I operate and how I think. I also will not add winning/losing plays that I did not post. I only will add into my record what I posted. It is the only fair thing to do. So if you value my plays, they will all be posted in this thread and documented. My plays will range from 1-10 units, maybe higher. I only go overboard on USC games. But I doubt I will bet on USC all year. No value. I'll never bet against USC but if I feel there is good value I'll post it.

im interested in hearing what you see in ohio. just my humble opinion, but i think they merit a strong look the following week when they open up at home against pittsburgh on espn. just somethg to think about -- northwestern's spread offense is very similar to the spreads featured by bowling green and toledo. bowling green put up 481 yards of offense and 41 pts against OU last year. toledo put up 400 yards of offense and 31 points against OU last year. the matchup against pitt, imo, presents more value, will be solich's home debut, and the panthers won't spread out ohio's defense as much.

the point of this is not to say 'i told you so" but rather to re-emphasize that ohio gets ripped apart by spread offenses. i said it a week ago, and it came to fruition on saturday. the wildcats run basically the same spread that toledo and bg used to rip OU apart. and northwestern put up 550 yards of total offense and 38 points. i felt like pittsburgh would be a much better matchup for them, and i feel that OU will cover this week in solich's home opener

You def. can say "I told you so." I put the 3 units on Ohio more because of Northwestern. I did not think they were good enough to win by more than 15pts. Guess they are. I like the Northwestern QB. He is good. I also fell victim to Solich. Thought he could have his team good enough not to lose by 16+. Can't win them all. Must win the big bets though! This should have been a 1 unit play for me.

Did you even watch the BC game? You did a poor job of capping it. You praised the BYU O-Line and even had enough nerve to compare them to BC. I asked you this.... Scott, what is the basis for the huge respect you have for the BYU OL? They were hideous last year and hands down the worst rushing team in the MWC. In their non conf games here are their stats
35car/22yds
27car/41yds
24car/27yds
35car/25yds

What a shocker on Saturday BYU 16 CAR FOR 8 YDS! On the other hand BC did what everyone expected, wear BYU down in the 2H. Whitworth 15 CAR 87 YDS + Callender 9 CAR 47 YDS!

Again, did you even watch the game? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE RED ZONE IS? BYU was not in the red zone 5 times! This is as close as they came......
BYU 4th and 1 on BC 31 STUFFED
BYU 1st and 10 on BC 19 10yd holding FG blocked
BYU 1st and 10 on BC 24 THEY STARTED THIS POSSESION IN THE RED ZONE because of a shanked punt.
On their final possesion they got into the red zone. So I count 3 red zone possesions and 1 was a gift from BC.

Do you know how to read a box score? You are claiming it is a fact that BYU had 2x the yardage, 2x time of possesion, and 4x penalty yds.

BC 365 YDS - BYU 338 YDS
BC 29:01 top - BYU 30:59 top
BC 57 PENALTY YDS - BYU 85 PENALTY YDS

WHERE ARE THESE MYSTERY #'S OF YOURS COMING FROM?

Swayne thanks for correcting me. I posted it late and didn't get my facts straight. I was going by memory.

However, BYU took the ball inside the Boston College 36 yardline 6 times!!!!!!!!! 6 freaking times BYU had the ball inside the BC 36 yard line. How many pts did BYU score? 3pts. How many penalties were called against BYU on those drives? A LOT!

Anybody who capped BC to cover did not expect BYU to take the ball inside BC 36 6 times. If you did and still took BC you have balls.

The score was 17-3 at the end of 3 quarters. BYU easily should have covered the spread, especially playing @BYU. It just didn't happen.

If BYU just kicked FG's 6 times LIKE CLEMSON did to A&M, BYU would have covered the #. And don't forget BYU had their FG at end of 1h blocked and BC got big play to get FG. That is 6 pt turnaround. Score would have been 7-0 BC at half, or 7-3 BC, or what if BYU scored a TD and went 7-7. Refs took care of that! Instead it was BC 10-0 at half.

I had BYU +5 and this game played out very for me. Just didn't get the cover. I'll take any team in the country +5 at home and have them get inside the opponents 36 yard line 6 times. I'll take my chances! :)

IF BYU scored TD's it would have been a different game. Maybe BYU OUTRIGHT WIN! They did poor job executing and horrible penalties from ACC refs.

Through 2 quarters I think BYU had +5min TOP and after 3q a +5 TOP as well. BYU was penalized heavily through 2/3 quarters. Especially inside BC territory. Usually the road team gets penalized more, but these were ACC refs. Total yards I believe BYU had more through 2/3 quarters.

But thanks for correcting me. I was wrong.

ADDING 3 units over 21 +100 2h (Betcris) It is for 1400 not 1500.

I did this for 3 reasons.

#1 to guarantee myself of a big weekend of profit.

#2 I have great chance at middle and profit. Also good chance Ole Miss wins by 3 or loses. So I am safe!

#3 Starting QB out for Memphis and this frosh QB might make costly mistake or 2 from inexperience. Also this game screams OT because it might be close.

EDIT: I made error. I got -116 vig on Ole Miss +.05 2h. Line changed from -105 to -116. Forgot and accidently gave first line I thought I got.

I agree.

Spurlock throws a couple td's in 2h, bc he's pissed he didn't get to finish the 1h....

Anybody who took the under def. should go for the middle and take over 2h. Great great opportunity for HUGE MIDDLE. Unfortunately I do not hit these often. :cursin: If this Memphis QB doesn't make mistakes, I think it is 50/50 on who wins. I side with ole miss.

You are right about spurlock. I agree. He is great rolll out QB and ole miss is playing to his strengths. Smart coach! :)

BTW, if I was not ahead after Sat/Sun, I prob. would just let my under 52 ride. I would take Ole Miss 2h no matter what because I have no clue how 2h plays out.

Good luck to anyone who follows! If I win big, I might throw something down on Miami/FSU game.

Scott to answer your question about troy st, Im not fading you. I think they will just play big time d all season. I think Uab is solid but it will be a low scoring game, probably 17-10

good luck

Well that sucks. If I didn't do anything I would have won 1 unit. But took advantage of huge middle opportunities and I lose. I NEVER win these. Worst luck.

Both teams can't combine to score 3 td's? Oh well.

I could easily have won 4 units if Memphis QB did not throw EITHER INT. Despite that, I was just 10 yards away with 4 downs available from winning 4 units. But Memphis can't punch it in and throws INT.

FREAKING SUCKS! So close to winning an extra 2k. :cursin:

The under ended up beaing the easiest cover for me for the weekend.

After all this I came out ahead $50. I had -105 juice on Ole Miss -1.5 and I won $100 on the UNDER 52.5. :)
