A team I can bet on that actually knows how to execute a field goal, A FUKCING FIELD GOAL!!

Is this some kind of lost art among the college ranks??? Remember when this used to be automatic??

I can't remember betting on more teams who missed FG's in one weekend ever.

I was on the canes too, but honestly that team looked so poor it was amazing the FG would even tie it. 2 Ints, Hester looked like a scared lil boy, blocked punts and that muffed snap...to me that is just a bad beat all around. Have to give credit to the Cane defense and the opffense and special teams deserve to be flat out horse whipped. 2 picks don't say alot but Wright looked awful solid and look for the U to rebound next week.

The average D1-A team made 12 (FG's) last yr. COLO,CON,MEM,WY,VIRG,were the best and all have guys coming back that did the job last year. TX A&M has a senior kicker that hit 92% last year & GT has a freshmen back that missed 2 last year.

penguinfan, in college, field goals are not automatic, not even extra points. trust me, there are only a few teams that have kickers that could execute fields goals on a regular basis, but not all the time. thats y the nfl has some many old ass kickers in the game because the, college kickers are joke!!! all they do in practice is kick the damn ball all week, i get real irratated when they miss the extra point or a really easy field goal. :cursin: :cursin:
btw, good luck this season

You think Texas would be able to find a replacement to make xp's. The kicker for Clemson would be nice to have this weekend!

I think they did put someone else in, looking at the box score, someone else made 2 xp's, so I think that guy might have lost his job. I'm not sure though.

Richmond McGee, the Longhorns' punter and kickoff specialist, took over the field goals and extra points this year. He missed his first extra point wide right then had two low kicks blocked in the second quarter.

"For whatever reason, we got off to a bad start with the extra points," Brown said. "He's never kicked in a game before."
