He is a career firefighter from Miami who was among the emergency workers responding to Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and the crash of ValuJet Flight 592 in the Florida Everglades in 1996.
Paulison also was chief of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department, leading 1,900 personnel and a $200 million operating budget. He was in charge of Dade County's emergency management office, according to the biography.
Yeah sounds like a bad candidate....what other complaints besides the "duck tape" do you have about him? I guess as a liberal it's easier for you to ignore his resume and pick out one rediculous thing to attack the guy for.

Actually, the person who is most qualified is Jeb Bush. He is in his last year as Governor here and is needed much more as the FEMA director. We don't need a horse lover, or a duct tape guy. We need somebody who has experience and a lot of it. He has it and he is very skilled. W probably couldn't do it because democrats would cry nepotism, but he is the best choice, not even close.
from what i understand this new guy is very well qualified......brown wasn't....he was a college roomate of a friend of bush's & didn't have experience in this type of work.......never like cronyism(sp?)

Ummm...even if this guy is worthy(time will tell), it's way too little and way too late as far as our current crisis is concerned.

And do you have an opinion on why the federal government said that the reason why Brown was called out of Baton Rouge was because he had to work on 'potential disasters?'
