Miami would also be a play against on that angle- bye week, on the road favored by 7+.

jharris,

i guess you're right.

here are a few more angles that i just read about....

teams that open the season at home & then are installed as a favorite in their road opener in a non-conference game are 65-104-3 ats (38%) since 1980, including 9-19 ats (32%) after a bye week.

play: syracuse

here is another one.....

plays against any 2-0 college team in game 3 if they are on thew road for the first time of the season & are a dog of 13 or more:

since 1980: 17-9 ats (62.5%), including 6-2 ats (75%) since 2001.

play: louisville (vs. oregon st.), calif.(vs. illinois), arizona st.(vs. nw.), & georgia tech (vs. conn.)

good luck.

thanks cooz...appreciate it.

played these so far.....all for 2*

fresno st.+3(120)....i like fsu's coach pat hill. he always has his team ready vs. the big boys.he is 22-5 ats in his career as a non conference dog. fsu has 16 starters returning from last years team..including their qb, 2 quality runners ( combined last year for over 2000 rushing yards), & 4 down linemen.... oregon rushed last week against montana for 2.3 ypr...ou plays usc next week.

arizona +8....last year purdue was 1-5 ats on the road....since 2000 purdue is 2-11 ats laying 3 points or more on the road.this is a good flat spot for purdue since they have minn., nd, & iowa up next.

g.t.-14(130)......conn. has beaten buff. & liberty, with a freshman qb at home so far this year by a combined score of 97-0. now this freshman is making his very first start on the road vs. gt, who has beaten auburn & n. car.....this should be a mismatch.

calif.-21....illinois is also starting a freshman qb for the very first time on the road.

n.mex.-21....winner gets the upper hand in the recruiting battle for new mexico prospects. nms coach, mumie is trying to install a wide open passing attack to players who were recruited to play option type of football.everything is different, including the blocking schemes.nms has -17 rushing yards in 2 games so far this season. n.mex. finally has a balanced offense that has scored 69 points, gained over 800 yards, & hasn't turned the ball over yet this season.

c.fla+10(120).....was impressed with c. fla's effort against so. car. in their first game...they showed resiliency in allowing sc only 10 points for the whole game after giving up 14 points in the first 2 drives.

bama-2....i like bama's team this year..if only they had a different coach....s.car. hasn't been able to run the ball this year with any consistency.

good luck.

Best of luck AR and thanks for the info on these trends. I find them useful -- I usually don't bet on the trends but often I become convinced not to bet against them either, and save a few bucks along the way.

blackman,

thanks for your post.

i don't follow trends 100% either...it's just another way to look at a game.

Great info AR. I am copying you on a lot of those. Looks like we are opposite on the late Hou/UTEP game, but if it lands on 62, we both win! :)
