Any comments?

I had my son alone last night, so I was unable to pay too much attention.

To my complete surprise, they were about 70/30 praising Bush on Fox and 100/0 bashing him on MSNBC and CNN (my son went to bed right after the speech so I saw some commentary).

Looking forward to hearing a few of your reactions.

I pretty much expected what he said as he stated all the politically correct ideas that almost all politicans would use in that situation. What I did not hear was that a bi-partisan commission will be appointed to look into just what went wrong on all ends that caused this delayed response to a catrostrophic situation. I guess we still are going to have the White House look into what went wrong which is pretty much worthless.

I heard him take blame for the slow reaction. That's right, he admitted he was accountable. Refreshing.

I thought this was one of his best speeches ever and he had a lot of great things to say, but my question is, where is all this $$ coming from to rebuild and help the people of the gulf coast?

On a side note, I happened to watch this on ABC and after the speech they were getting reaction from some folks staying at the astro dome. The reporter kept trying to get the people he was interviewing to say something bad about the pres or his speech and it was hysterical because they wouldn't do it. They blamed the majority of the situation on the local and state government instead of the Feds.

I thought it was L Johnson with money to burn. I feel sorry for him in away. He is the one that appointed Jerkoff and Brown and he cant just say I'm sorry or made a mistake. He's still got one left to can if serious. It's like the clown he has placed at the U N. He just can't learn. I wonder whare this cash is coming from the S/S fund.

I agree somewhat DJV--I think they are throwing too much money in--with all the corruption history of official there they definately need to give out a little of the funding at a time then check to see where it ends up.
You can build it back brand new and in 5 years the slums will return.Saw it happen 1st hand in St Louis. They built brand new complex in projects call Pruitt Igo. With in a year windows were broken -graffitti all over the place ect.Area looked no better than what they demolished previously.
Don't matter how much money you spend--poverty to some is way of life not a product of society--if you don't believe walk in a bath room at service station near a slum and look around and tell me wealth has anything to do with hygene or respect for others and their property.
Then explain how Asians can move here and have the largest barrier of all (communication) and flourish.Could it be--Pride-work ethics- willingness to learn--and above all they take responsibilty for their success or failure.
Asians have fewest unemployed and at poverty level than any race in U.S. Want to venture a guess who has the opposite, here are on any other continent on earth--Why--Maybe Jessie & Dean can enlighten us since they claim racism is the reason for poverty--if so, why is it world wide and what about African nations?
