LAST WEEK 8-6
ESPN 3-2
Hank thinks this is a very tough slate of games this week. He mentions that he has the NYG at 60 to 1 to go all the way. He is trying to find last year's record of faves vs. dogs for Sunday's show.
A note about last week's record: Hank said 8-6 although the write up reflected 6-5, I think. Sometimes I blow over a pick........IE last week I didn't post the Wash/Chi under which he definitely had. Sometimes my note-taking isn't so complete. I have never heard him "fudge" his record, so I will give him the 8-6 he said he had.
This week's card:
BALT------Wright 5-1 his last 6 starts. Tenn young receivers to have a tough time against Balt. secondary.
PITT/HOU-----PASS Pitt in a sandwich, vs. NE next week.
JAX------Indy will have trouble running, don't trust their secondary and JAX played them tough twice last season.
CHICAGO-----Detroit is 3-29 last 3 years or so on the road and don't play well on grass.
CINN------Offense should be able to move the ball and will be ready to play. Palmer turning into a fine QB.
PHIL/SF-----PASS
BUFF/TAMPA-------Can't see the game going over.
CAROLINA-------Pats 8-8-1 on road grass ATS. CAR a great dog play, 13-2-1 as a dog at home. NE showed a bit of vulnerability inside against the run.........Davis can exploit that. CAR needs the win badly.
ATL-------Had over 200 yds. rushing last year vs Seattle, mostly without Vick & held Alexander in check. Not a fan of cross country trips, however.
ST LOUIS-------Ariz only 2-15 in home openers and can't run. ST L is the better team.
NYJ-----seem to have Miami's number. Mia must run well to win. Won't lay the hook at 6.5.
GB/CLEVE-------PASS
SD------Tough game to call, won't be a TV pick. Chargers, I guess.
OAKLAND------9-1 in home openers, KC banged up.
DALLAS-------to stop Wash's run game, they are not so great offensively anyway. Wash on road Mon nites are 2-12, their K is hurt and DALL has won 13 of last 14 contests.
NYG-----Saints won't have the same emotion as last week. Giants special teams better and finally-------revenge for the Joe Horn telephone incident when NO whacked them last time out.
Probabilities for ESPN picks would be OAK & DALLAS. Possibilities are CHICAGO, CAROLINA & ST LOUIS.
