Loaded up on OU -3 ( bought the hook)today. The bobcats should dominate the line play forcing Kent to try to go through the air. I liked what I saw of the OU secondary in the Pitt game and doubt if Kent has the talent to beat them deep.On the other side of the ball, Kents defense should bring a spark of renewed life to the sluggish OU offense.

Great start to the year G, and always look forward to your MAC informative threads.

good to hear from you. i got your mail from earlier this week and sent a reply but (inexplicably?) i got it returned to sender from your yahoo account saying undeliverable? very strange. i sent it again and got the same result. didnt want you to think i let your mail go by w/o acknowledging it. best of luck this weekend buddy. ill try that yahoo account once more and let you know if i have any technical problems getting a mail to you. would love to see akron pull off the upset this week and set up some line value for cmu next week, though zips have quite the task tonight trying to stop wolfe. we'll be in touch.

no problem bumping the first losing post for a mac game play this season here. offset it a bit with kent state 2h but still expected this one to win for those that played it. not gonna let it hideout on page 2 or 3 just because it lost. in all seriousness though -- 16-16 at halftime (and shoulda been more had wmu not fumbled on the temple 10 yd line right before halftime) , but on a good pace with 32 points at the break.... and then a 19-16 final on a field goal as time expired? wtf? lol. oh well. hope the mac notes some guys out. really interested in seeing how the niu/akron game turns out. line move up to 8 just seems a little much. zips might be able to hang inside that number. 1-1 on the mac plays here. will get it back on track next week. :)

Gman, do you have a link to listen to the No. Ill/Akron game? Thanks.

Also, thanks for posting the additional info on the game.

i say 15 minutes before game time and
saw the total at 57.5..so i ran scared.

Thanks, Gman. If I can get the Huskies in there, it's going to be an incredible day.

Best of Luck.

train- i saw it get hit down a bit to 59. didnt know it went down further than that. for 30:00, it was looking real good. i think temple and wmu got the memo in the 2h about the line drop, lol. wmu is really screwed now though. they finally get some momentum, but lost their quarterback to a serious injury today in the 2h. everything went so right in the 1h, but then so wrong in the 2h, including cubit getting knocked out of the game. (incidentally, hope hes alright. heard it might be serious). thanks for the info though. in the end, the line move proved accurate. mac line moves are wacky. sometimes theyre dead on. other times, they are inexplicable and carry no weight.

Not too soon to say I was way off on this one. The No. Ill. secondary is overmatched, and the offense can't run the ball. I really underestimated Akron's offense. 28 unanswered points.

Great call on the Kent 2nd half. I feel fortunate to have bought the hook and get out of that one with a push. I rarely buy points but will buy off of 2' and 3' on occasion.

Went to the N. Ill- Zip game last night and came away very impressed with Getsy and the Zip receivers. At least two of their TDs were off of broken patterns after Getsy's protection broke down, and Getsy made some very heady plays out there. Both Hixon and Montgomery can bust one at any time, and both posess great moves after the catch.

Horvath did not take a back seat to Getsy, and also looked very good. I don't know why, but NIU seemed to be obsessed with trying to slip Wolfe though the tackles all night long, even after it was quite apparent that NIU's front was not at all dominant vs. the Akron defensive line. I really feel that there was where the game was lost for NIU. They were looking at a lot of 3rd and longs and squandered away a few drives by continuing to force their running game into a tough Zip line.

Regardless, what an exciting MAC contest we saw last night, Just might have to go the that Central game next week as well.
