First I please ask the moderators to leave this thread in CFB forum since my thread was locked. So people can at least read who followed me. Thanks! SUPER LONG E-MAIL!

Guests at my house finally left and I go onto madjacks to update my record and I can't believe the comments I read in my thread.

TO be honest with everyone. We all know I lost huge $$$ tonight. But it really didn't have a big impact on me. Nobody in my real life knows about my gambling winnings or losings. They all think I bet $10-$1k. I keep it a big secret because it is my business. Losing big tonight SUCKED BIG TIME and made me sad but that is why it is called gambling. I knew very well I could lose over 15k today when I woke up. I took the chances and lost! I easily could have won 15k.But reading my thread and all the different replies in it really did hurt me. I really felt more sad reading my depressing thread than seeing the South Florida highlights of them scoring on UL. Maybe because I was so in tuned with USC/Oregon game! I actually was in a good mood because USC won until opening madjacks after my guests left and reading my thread. Oh well, what can you say.

OUCH!

Today was prob. my 2nd worst betting day in my life. WOW! I took a major beating. No I don't use the greatest money management but that is why it is called gambling. That is why I have won as much $$$ as I have. Because I take RISKS! I guarantee you that I lost every single penny posted here. It sucks but I rolled the dice and came up short. I had 5 of my friends over to watch the USC game, and I don't have ESPN U so couldn't watch UL play and it was PAINFUL to see the updates. I think final score was 45-7. I predicted 45-7 UL not 45-7 South Florida. I don't know what happened but I do know I capped it very poorly. I was 90% confident in this play. I rarely ever lose big bets and tonight I took a beating. I deeply apologize to ANYBODY who followed and lost big or lost at all. I posted why I took it big but seems like NONE of it happened. Not only did I lose UL, I lost most of everything else. :( I did not make ANY additional wagers on my own either. Those were 100% of all my plays today. The funny thing is I was so into the USC game losing over 10k on UL never was in my mind. Maybe cuz USC game was close for 2 quarters. :)

I think I lost around 17k prob.a little less. Def. over 16k Will do the hard math tom. because some plays I had no juice and others less than -110 juice. But 17k is rough estimate of all plays if they were -110 juice. Purdue was 1unit not 2 units. Post #1 in thread was incorrect as you can see my add ons I had it at 1 unit. I made an error.

I have had bad losses before and I ALWAYS came out ok. I have only lost big 4 times in my life.

YEAR 1 of Pete Carroll I got my account to around $1,500 profit and bet it all on USC in Las Vegas bowl and lost. :( Actually I think I bet 1.3k USC, $200 CO over Oregon. Something like that. WIPED OUT! NOT POSTED ON MJ's

3 or 4 years ago I lost 3k profit I think on ASU NORTHCOAST GOY over Iowa. That was $hit load of $$$ for me back then. NOT POSTED ON MJ's

Maybe 3-4 years ago (don't remember exactly)I had my account up to 27k profit and bet CBB HOOPS Arizona ML around -300 @USC $17,000 to win $5000+. LOST IT! Couldn't believe it. Arizona great USC bad and USC pulled upset. Felt so $hitty. NOT POSTED ON MJ's

This year I lost little over 10k PROFIT maybe 12k on Boston Celtics to beat Pacers in playoff series. POSTED ON MJ's

Then tonight I lost around 17k profit on my GOY and REST Of picks! OUCH that was bad capping. My apologies. POSTED ON MJ's

I know I will bounce back. I told everyone I have around 63k in all my sportsbooks + neteller account and all of it is profit. Amazing story because I accomplished this amount of profit with 1k starting bankroll over 3 years ago! I also have taken out profit which is sitting in my bank account that I NEVER will gamble with. Unless I need it to hedge a bet (USC maybe example if i lose more $$$) I was willing to lose 30k in CFB season. I told everyone that.So far I have lost 17k tonight and prob. down around 15k for CFB season (will get exact figures later) I am still in the game! This is ALL profit from my big scores posted on MJ's and other wagers not posted. But like I have mentioned, I have won a documented over 50k on posted wagers at MJ's. I will be ok. I just hoped I would have been a winner tonight like I expected to be. I have to face losing BIG BETS sometimes and tonight I did! :( I have won majority of my big bets but this sets me back quite aways. Hopefully I rebound and you won't be seeing me trying to double up to catch up. I will continue betting the same way I do until I lose my 30k or turn a profit. :) Remember, I am very confident in my USC futures wager that I posted for everyone to jump on! Speaking of USC...........

Good news tonight was USC WON! If USC lost, I would have lost an additional $26,000!!!!! I have 22k at around +180---+190 odds to win it all, $750 at +250 odds and 3k undefeated season +240 something odds. So I would have prob. lost 26k if USC lost tonight and that would have been worst gambling day EVER for me and maybe force me to quit while I'm ahead :)

USC was down 13-0 :scared but then scored 45 straight pts. I ADMIT I WAS SWEATING BULLETS!Carroll is a fawking genius and USC D allowed only 13pts. AMAZING! USC D gets stronger next week with players coming back. I am more confident than ever USC will win the national championship. I wish I could add to it at +188 odds. I learned so much about USC today that they will not lose another game the rest of the year. I doubt I lose my 26k investment on USC. The USC players improvement from spring practice, fall practice, hawaii---Arky---Oregon is amazing. USC at the end of the year will be a scary looking team. USC literally BEAT THEMSELVES, HAD THE WORST BREAKS GO AGAINST THEM, Injured badly as a D unit, and still won 45-13 and USC D held Oregon to 13pts and a SHUT OUT in 2h AT OREGON! (even though Oregon did drive down to redzone) Simply amazing! NO TEAM in the country could have done what USC did today in beating themselves, getting worst breaks, go into the game a depleted injured team, and winning 45-13.

Look for Pinny odds on USC to win it all. PUT HUGE CASH ON USC! This team is going all the way. 1st year Matt started USC looked little sloppy and not dominant. Then USC played @ASU and was losing and Matt came in injured 2h and USC found L. White at RB and blew away ASU in 2h. Turned USC season around and from that point on USC killed everyone. Today I saw the EXACT same thing but little differently. But you will see the same results the rest of the year. Todays win for USC will put them over the top the rest of the year. Offensively (duh) but more importantly defensively.

Other good news tonight was Angels won. For the last 20+ days I been sweating bullets with Angels. I have them for big bet at -300 fawking odds to win the west. HORRIBLE BET I MADE 3+ weeks ago! I just might get lucky! These fawking Angels were the reason I bet 3k on USC to go undefeated at +240 something odds. So i can recoup most of my losses if A's won the west. A's still might win the fawking west. :cursin:

I wonder how many posters read the entire post? :) Congrats if you did! I spent 25min. with this damn post! :)

Scott, I read your post and read it again. It is very sad. You need to make some changes, and get connected with people, yourself and what matters in life. When you say nobody in my real life knows, you are saying I am lying to them and myself. You only have one life to life, put everything on the table for you and all to see and move ahead. You care to much about what others think, be true to yourself ,your friends and family and forget the rest. I lost my DAD last June, thats a loss. You sound like a smart guy,all you need to do is live one life. I know,I have walked your walk and it didn't work. You are what you are,put it out there and you will fly.

The real problem in the post is that you said you were "90% confident in the play". If you really feel that way about any play, you should just quit gambling, because you will eventually lose all your money with that attitude. There is no play that is a "90% cetainty" outside of a fixed event.

Everyone loses games, everyone loses big games. If they say otherwise, they are nothing but a complete liar. But to come on here with these long rants in an attempt to underscore your greatness and profess that there is no way you can lose other plays you made just makes you look silly. Yes, USC can still lose. They have played and beaten no one this year. For your sake, I wish you luck.

Hang in there, Scott. Your USC homerism sometimes annoys me, but you seem like a pretty good guy overall.

And I enjoy reading your takes on non-Pac 10 games. ;)

Scott,

Bounce back buddy. :) Most of us have been there before I know I have. What was done to your thread was wrong. It showed how little class some madjackers have.

Sorry to read about your heavy losses. Since you are open about your personal affairs, I assume that you will welcome the following commentary.

You are not alone. 90% of cappers and gamblers I know (myself included) started out wagering too heavily in college and practiced poor, if any, money-management. You got hammered last night, but that will happen to you over and over if you drop over 33% of your available bankroll on 1 play.

I saw you post recently that your bank was 52K. You have at least 26K tied up in USC futures. That leaves you with 26K in bankroll which means playing 9K on L'ville( a heavy road fav at that) is a bad idea. You stated above that you lost about 16K last night. That leaves with you with 10K. I can see no reason for you to lay more than $500 (5%) on any game the remainder of the season.

I hope it works out for you, because it is sad to see someone throw away a 50K account. This is real money, which you could have utilized as a down payment on a house or condo, for which you are apparently saving.

GL the rest of the way:weed: :weed:

Scott, my two cents:

You are young. Take 2 grand and play around with it. Pull for SC. Enjoy the games.

Then, take the remaining cash and invest in the market. Spread out your portfolio, make a decent return, then use that cash when you're ready to buy a crib. Sports wagering is no way to build your empire. Let yesterday be a lesson. GL.

Scott,

i've never had a problem with you. Whether or not you bet what you say is of no importance to me. Personally I believe you, why not? Some people act like 50k is a million dollars. It's not a life changing sum, but that's not the point.
I enjoy reading your posts because it gives me something to read. I enjoy your jabs with sun tzu and others as well. Maybe I'm a sucker for drama. I like both of you guys. You just rub some people the wrong way. Not me, I just think some people take you wrong.
You know what you did wrong. You put that stupid lock in your post and you know what that means. You do give reasoning for your plays and that's all i ever look for in any post. Whether or not I agree with it is up to me to decide.
I never once have blindly followed one of your plays, but that's just not my style. I'm sure some have.
The point is, its just a loss, granted a larger one than you would have liked, but you can bounce back. Keep your head up

gl in future games.

I said I was 90% confident and I meant it. Why do you think I put so much $$$ on them? Because I felt 90%. I am all honesty here at MJ's. When I say I am 90% confident USC will win the NC, I put 26k on them! Get it? I back up what I say. In my lifetime of gambling (5-6 years) I have prob. wagered my entire account ($500 or more) 9 times. I am 8-1! I was 90% confident in all the big losses I posted above which equal 0-4. Now my record is 7-5 on 90% plays. Then I must add all my big scores that I was 90% confident in that I didn't bet my account equals something like 13-2 something like that. Now my record on 90% plays is prob. around 20-8 ATS = around 71%. Not 90% ATS but 70% ATS isn't too shabby! But all were 90% confident plays from me. On posted wagers here at the site I prob. have been something like 9-2 ATS = 81% on "big" bets here at MJ's in my years posting here. (including UL last night as BIG BET)

Point is I gambled big like I always do when I feel 90% confident, I just lost this time. Man was it UGLY! -20 fav lose by 35+. OUCH! If I would have hit my 90% confident play like I normally do, I be set for the season. Now I am in huge hole after 1 month of the season. Not fun! :) But it has not been a good year handicapping for me this CFB season. Sometimes happens! Hopefully I handicapped USC winning it all well! :) Otherwise I am out more $$$$. But I am more confident in this team vs ANY USC team the last 3 years. So that is good news for me personally. Although next week USC might be playing their toughest opponent of year and on road! :scared

Cie Grant

I agree I don't use the best money management but I am high risk high reward type guy. Even if I lose 40k this year gambling, I am still up ton of $$$. But maybe it would make me think twice about my high risk high reward style. Thanks for nice post!

bryanz

Why should I tell friends/family how much I gamble? It really is none of their business. I have great relationship with my parents, family and friends. I freaking still live with them! :)

I have done that taken money out of my accounts and in my bank account. I sorta put a "stop loss" at 30k for CFB season. My USC futures bet of 26k is just that, A BIG RISKY INVESTMENT! Just like a penny stock etc. That is how I look at it. Same with stock investments, I have chances to hedge my USC futures bet. Hell, I can take USC NOT to win the NC at -115 at PINNY this week if I wanted. Huge guaranteed profit but I am over 90% confident USC wins it all. 10% says they might get upset. I'll roll the dice again. Remember, I did hedge my USC bet with OU a little bit last year. So I do hedge even if it kills me.

I have had my own job the last year and I start my career in Jan. So I am not relying on GAMBLING $$$$. It is huge $$$ but I am a risk taker. I am only 24 and I can only do this once in my life. When I eventually get married (around 28-32) and have kids, I cannot be like this ever again. It is now or ever to have my fun! It has won me over 70k total in profits. But I have taken HUGE HUGE HUGE risks repeatedly. Yesterday killed me! I hope I bounce back and I LOVE myself for going big with USC in the summer to win it all. I posted it for everyone to cash in as well. I just wish I had 50k 3 years ago. I would have bet 50k USC -3 over UCLA 3 years ago, 100k USC over Iowa OB, 150k USC over Michigan RB 2 years ago. ALL 3 I put my accounts in and was well over 90% confident in my play. ALL 3 were freaking easy winners. But I did not have 50k back then. For USC Michigan RB I had 11k and I bet it all! And posted it too! All these different bets I felt were 90% +. SO SO easy. But all those game helped me reach my profit # today. All were HUGE risks. USC easily could have had player hurt or careless turnovers etc. I gambled and came out on top. Last night I lost. I bet to the pt where I "could" rebound myself I also bet to the pt where I could have made big score!

Nice post BDB. I put the lock symbol to see if I could beat the jinx! :) Guess not! But I don't believe in that crap or people saying lock. I posted my analysis why I was betting so much on UL so people knew EXACTLY what I was thinking going in. Yesterday was classic example where MONEY MANAGEMENT prevents you from digging in huge hole. But I am not that type of gambler and I clearly stated that! Well you could obviously seen that!

You also have to remember I had 3k in FREE MONEY to start the CFB season from all the bonuses I took advantage of. That is 6 units! So that helps a "little" bit. :) Everyone should take advantage of the bonuses from MJ's sponsors and you help the site!

Sorry Scott,
I wish we all could win on Saturdays. Ya know how bombs said we all lose..........doesnt it always seem to happen when we stick our neck out the farthest?

We have all lost major shares of our bankroll at one point, and yet we are all still here. Some of us for fun. Some of us for money. For love or money. Either way, add up your losses, see what ya got left, take 10%, get a date, go have fun. Start over next week.
We all know in the scheme of things 20k is nothing, but not one person here would wanna throw 20k off the top of the local highrise just for fun. I would consider myself well to do, and I have written very few checks in my short life over that amount. It would hurt to get nothing back for it.

I am sure you know well, Don't gamble what you cant lose. You have been doing this a very short time, So, I have some advice for you.

1. Keep writing your posts, we all llove the info. Whoever doesnt, they arent here to cap anyay, and you can just fade them.

2. Calm down. Always remember you are wrong about a bet until, you get paid for winning it. With that attitude, you will always be humble. Occasionally break out, but be prepared to eat a lot of crow like you are now.

3. Have fun. You're 24 and you are showing it this weekend. It goes by fast. Believe me whatever its like now, it gets harder to do later. If you have dream to do, go for it. Get the heck out of your moms house and become who you are meant to be. Quit using the excuse of saving money. You have to learn to be self sufficient to make it in life. From what you have said, you arent even close.

I wish you the best. I dont always agree with your bets, but in about ten years, you should be hitting a consistent 75+%. You just have too much passion in your money plays now.

Next time if you ever say to yourself, I'm 90% confident in this so I am going to keep betting on it every time the line goes in your favor. Lay off. Win or lose the amount you already have on it.

fight on, Scott.

I read most of your posts, so don't let a few, with their own agenda, dissuade you from expressing your opinions.

I'm gonna shoot straight with you. If you ever expect to become a good handicapper/sports gambler, then you have to be more aware of your weaknesses as well as strengths. . So much of gambling is psychological. Focus, discipline, confidence, and objectivity are attributes you need to acquire if you are going to have any real success, regardless if as you say you are not in this for the long-term.

Now, in looking at your posts this season, you need to come to terms with the fact that you have a ways to go as a handicapper and a gambler.

I am not that much older than you, so I myself have a ways to go. There's always room for improvement - just look at my NFL 'capping. I only handicap three sports seriously: college football, college basketball and the NFL. Evaluate yourself, honestly list your aspirations in this vocation/avocation and then prioritize accordingly.

There's lots of good advice in this thread, you need to take them to heart and mind.

There are different paths to Nirvana.

"the bunker"
scott...cwood hit the nail on the head...i put money in several offshores and play around..i nickel and dime....and have alot of fun....i haven`t re-upped in over 2 years...not because i`m iceberg slim...but,because i`m cautious...

.i`m sure you have a job...and make a decent living....or will...cause if you don`t,you shouldn`t be doing this...

you really don`t need gambling to supplement your income...so why let it hurt you....
don`t throw big money at this shit...it`s always a losing proposition....

i can NEVER..put myself in a position to lose big money on something that i can`t control....

even in my large boxing wagers...that are miniscule compared to the numbers you mentioned...i always hedge....

bro...enjoy it...don`t let it mess with your head...

and don`t let the killjoys here ruin your fun...

Balls Deep
People may trade shots in here but in the end we are all gamblers and if not on the same games i root for everyone to win. It probably took bigger balls for you to own up to your thread and repost this instead of hiding from it (a la freeze). Keep up the hard work obviously it's been paying off. Every single person on this board has had a day/weekend like you did where everything fell apart...everyone knows that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach after games like that. I hope usc pulls off the futures for you.

hey scott, i don't post here often, but i admire your candor and honesty. i think you contribute a lot to this forum. sure, ppl criticize your money management, your picks, whatever...but you do what works for you...and you discuss it. that's all you can ask for from a message board. you provide an interesting perspective and are always willing to post your rationale behind each opinion and respond to other ppl's criticisms. it was a tough loss, but you've been here before and will bounce back. we've ALL bet more than we should have on games we really liked...and we've all lost those games and found ways to deal w/ it. keep betting, keep posting, and best of luck!

So Cal
Man what a tough weekend.
I never seen so much negative post as you had in your thread.
It seems that most of "them" was praying for us to lose!!
I was really hoping UL would come thru, just so you could rub it in the faces of all those HATERS. Plus I had $$$ on UL.
(I can't say the same for Idaho, I had Hawaii LOL.)

I think you are a very solid capper.
Plus the season is so young.

Keep ya head. Best of luck to you on all your plays.

We should go to a Bruins or Trojans game TY.
