here are the records for the so-called ESPN football experts. Now this is straight up, not even against the spread. This is pretty pathetic if you ask me, btw, they all picked KC tonight.

This Week
Theismann 7-5
Salisbury 12-1
Hoge 10-3
Jaworski 10-3
Schlereth 9-4
Allen 8-5
Mortensen 6-7
Golic 9-4

Through Week 3
Theismann 21-21
Salisbury 30-14
Hoge 28-16
Jaworski 25-19
Schlereth 24-20
Allen 23-21
Mortensen 23-21
Golic 22-22

Salisbury 30-14

granted they get paid for this stuff, and as a whole television analysts aren't better than anyone else. But I would hazard to guess if every mj'er here picked every game straight up from week one through today that less than 5% would have this good a record. And I certainly wouldn't be one of them.

BDB, yes he is 30-14, which is after a 12-1 week, which meant he was 18 -13, which is pretty good, but some of the guys are barely 50%.

I would disagree with picking in the long run. I have been in pickem pools for a number of years (probably 10-12) and I think only 2 times have I been under 50%.

I would just think for the inside knowledge that these guys supposidly have, you would think their % would be higher

As TV analysts go, check out Solomon Wilcots on NFL Network (cable/Dish/Directv). He's on a show called Playbook...doesn't make picks per se...he gives you the Xs and Os...calls out the winners every week...

This week he was talking up NE, Cin, Cle, and TB. Went 3-1. Good stuff!

I know it is early, but in our work pool 48 out of 51 people are above 54% (with 27 hitting above 62%). Now, most of the people have no clue about games or capping.... many are just in it because everyone does it. Maybe knowing too much can actually hurt.
