I personally think that this game will land right around the number.

I have USC winning 45-28 or something in that area.

For some reason I just want to throw a lttile bit on ASU, Money Line. I figure I will take a shot, what the hell.

Does anyone out there think this is crazy?

I appreciate the responses guys, thanks.

be interesting to see if USC starts stronger, how fired up asu is after last years no show, if USC can play b2b without letdown etc ... game could be close I suppose, but IMO usc is deservedly one of great teams of all time (and they cover like a quilt) so im guessing 45-21

SC WINS BIG!!!!

I was just checking out sportsbook and 80% of the money has been bet on USC so far and the line has moved from -17 to 16, you must ask yourself WHY???

leinart was injured last time in tempe, think he starts game with a stronger focus than last game vs. oregon ducks.
sundevils can't win this but they will definitely stay close... take the points.

well....considering sc will likely be dd favs over almost everybody they play during the reg. season (maybe @nd and @cal will drop below dd) if you honesyly think sc is gonna lose a game its gotta be vs

@asu
@nd
@cal
ucla

asu-nd-ucla have offenses to potentially outscore sc

cal has the defense to possibly hold them down a bit (30-40) but can their offense do anything???

here's how asu wins:
it's 105 in tempe
sc comes out flat like they did vs oregon
asu takes advantage of sc's "weakness" their db's
asu actually scores td's early and gets a bigger lead than oregon had
asu continues to score throughout the game
pigs fly over the stadium
wildcats fans wear sun devil outfits
and fat michael moore relases a new "documentary.....GW: the greatest president ever"

basically...little to no chance

yes they can win.. nobody said they could beat nebraska in 96. especially after almost allowing 80 points the year before..

This is the biggest game in Dirk Koetter's career.. and for a program desperate for consistency and respect.. this game better bring out the best in ASU...

ASU has the talent to hang with anybody... including USC... will they win.. i doubt it... but throwing a few bucks on moneyline is not a bad idea.. i'm doing it

BG, you will prob take this badly (and IM certainly not trying to start anything since you are an ardent devil fan) but wasnt last year's game at USC just as big? just curious to see your POV on that?

it was and they lost

no disrespect to the scummies :) but sc is on another level....asu may need to score about 66% of their possessions (and score td's).....i dont see sc's defense allowing that

I think USC also lost to ASU in 1978. ASU gave USC their only loss that year.

ASU doesn't have the same "team" talent as USC. Honestly, I don't think it is even close. Doesn't mean ASU can't beat or hang USC, but we are comparing TALENT. Take USC skilled players on offense vs ASU skilled players on offense and you can make an argument they are on par or close.

I am willing to bet ASU HC Koetter would trade a a few of his "starters" on defense for USC 2nd string players on defense.

On offense, Koetter prob. wouldn't trade QB's, TE's and his WR Hagen. Carroll prob. wouldn't trade his QB, TE and his best WR. Everywhere else USC prob. outclasses ASU on offense.

It will be very very interesting to see how well the ASU OL protects Keller. So far they have done an excellent job this year. If they do it against USC, ASU will move the ball well against USC D.

Guys, save your money. The Trojans will get this one with daylight. Leinart will take the ASU 2ndary apart with a scalpel.

Gambling Rule #1: Never bet into a winning streak.

USC is 3-0 vs. the points this year. They are coming off a game in which they travelled to Autzen Stadium (OR), a very noisy and hostile venue, where the fans are literally perched over the team benches, where you can't hear yourself think, where defeat was staring them in the face, and they simply scored 45 straight points to win it EASILY! Going away...without a whip...

The Trojans are rolling, fellas. The only way USC loses this one is if Leinart is carted off in a meatwagon in the 1st QTR. Who is going to stop them?...the Sun Devils? Hmm, let's see...these guys gave up 525 yards to the Beavers! I don't think so.

The Oregon State QB, Matt Moore, a Bruin reject, had 311 yards on ASU's D. How are the Sun Devil's going to stop Matt Leinart and the rest of his crew?

Don't get me wrong...I'm no lover of USC...being a Bruin fan, I truly loathe them...but let's get serious here...we are talking about beating the bookie...and that means thinking with our heads and not our hearts...

Man for man, it seems that USC has superior athletes with superior conditioning. They beat their opponents up physically. Look at Oregon last week: Mike Belotti said after the game that his team was not properly conditioned. (He blamed himself, and called the problem "overconditioning," (say what?)).

Regardless of the excuses, Oregon had their hands on their hips early in the 3rd QTR. The Ducks QB got his bell rung. The poor guy didn't know what year it was.

ASU will get their points, be assured. But, as was true in the Old West: "in a shootout, always back the side with the best guns."

IMO, half of the USC team will be NFL material in coming drafts. Can the same be said for ASU? I know I sound like SCOTT'S alter ego here, (Oh my God!). Truth be known, we are from the same town, I'm proud to say. But these opinions are my own. I'm going to lay the lumber on this one, and I suggest that you guys do the same.

gotta concur with the majority. I think ASU can stay close and cover but it's more likely that they fade and USC rolls. by 20+.

I just can't go against the Trojans just yet.
