Arkansas State v. Louisiana Monroe
Arky St. decimated an FIU squad that has no hope in stopping any O w/ a pulse. But the Golden Panthers did move the ball via the air. TO's did them in along w/ the inability to tackle any ASU runner.
Stopping the run game will be key for ULM, even w/o RB Warren, as the Indians have depth. I think Bracey is comparable to Warren. Noce is a decent signal-caller. ULM has the makings of one of the top Sun Belt Conference's D's...for what that's worth. They can contain the pass but the key for ? for them is: Can the stop the ground attack?
ASU's D is thriving on the TO's - as is ULM's - and they'll need a few takeaways v. QB Jyles. Jyles is a dynamic threat at the helm and the 2nd best QB in the SBC...behind ULL's Babb. ULM has the WR's and if they can get the run game goin' reasonably well as they did v. FAU, it is possible that we'll see them light up the scoreboard.
Both teams are about even at ST's and coaching...maybe ULM rates a slight edge.
These schools have played some tight games in this short series. This should be a close one - a game that could go either way. Arky St. has won the last 3, but I expect that to change on Rocktober 1st.
Lousiana Monroe +3
Other picks:
Air Force +5...close games, close games...Falcon the Rams.
Rutgers PK...am I nuts? The Scarlet-Letter Knights?!?...too much O, which
hopefully leads to less thinkin' on the part of Schiano.
San Diego State Over 54...yeh, I'm tailin' Scott on his pick...shhh,
don't tell him. Neither team can stop a pass-
kinda like Anna Nicole Smith.
Hawaii Under 68.5...I know it's kinda spooky but I think I finally have a
good handle on this Hawaii team. Warriors are much more
ball-control oriented this yr. Boise will look to run.
