Army almost beat Big12 Iowa St last week dominating time, yds, etc. But still lost by a TD.Ross has this game circled since lyr's whipping by Conn 40-3.It was after that game Ross gave his famos speech "about I didn't prepare my team" and some player quit".
Army has lost to BC,Baylor and ISU so far.Pretty good comp.Conn rolled over Buffalo,Liberty and lost to Ga Tech.Huskies were leading 13-7 at one point but Tech had to much speed.
Army has another tough task today stopping Caulley and Brockington running the ball. These are 2 solid backs with some depth off the bench. No more Orlovsky who loved the Army's Db's.Bonislawski is the new Qb and he can run the ball. Not a passer since Huskies rank 110th in passing. But they didn't have to pass the ball vs the Liberty's and Buffs. But Bono poses a big threat to the Army front 7.He can run option and look for a lot of play action today.Army will stuff the line trying to stop run.Army loses there top LB in this game Rockwood and they have little depth as it is.There defense has improved but don't think it can contain a Caulley and Brockington atack.
Army off. is still Carlton Jones. They have no other backs so defenses can put 7 guys in the box.Dahman who looked better in Iowa St game is still inconsistent with no arm.Huskies play man coverage and Army's Wr's are not a threat. It's hard for them to get seperation even though that is the Huskies main weakness on D.Huskies DL is solid. They returm 3 of 4 from lyr. They have size and are quicker.Army Ol are still rookies.
Cadet front 4 DL avg 250 pounds.Conn OL are huge.Ross will try to stop Huskies rush attack. But with a Bono a Qb who has rushed for 3 tds already and has over 100 yds on the ground could prove to be a problem.
Army has a lot of confidence after the ISU game. But think they have to be somewhat down because they had them on the ropes.I watched the game on tape and still can't figure out ISU game plan. They were running all over Army and then go to a passing game that caused ints and turnovers.
Conn's coach is savvy.Plus they have a 5'6 midget in Taylor who's return game might score a TD for them.
Conn bought a huge amount of tickets for this sold out game.It could sound like a Huskie home game.I know of 3 of my buddies that sold there tickets on e-bay to Conn fans.
Remember from the Point if you look east only 25 miles out you can see the Conn mountains.
I think Army has a tough time today.Conn will play ball control, stop Jones and win this by 2 or 3 Td's.
