The Tigers went 71-91 this season and were 186-300 in three seasons under Trammell. He had one year left on his contract. "Really, I'm OK," the 47-year-old Trammell said last week. "I'm a big boy. I've been through enough that I understand how things are."

The Dodgers and manager Jim Tracy have "mutually agreed to part ways," the club announced tonight.
Tracy went 427-383 in his five years as the Dodgers' manager.

I keep hoping that Baker is next although for whatever reason I think the next announcement will be a 2 year extenstion given to him and his staff.

Must be a reward for how well they played fundamentally. You know, like the game the Cubs pitchers failed to cover 1st base on 3 different occasions.

Or it may be a reward for all the timely hitting like having the bases loaded with nobody out in the bottom of the ninth during the last home game of the season against the mighty Pirates and failing to score a run.

Gotta love the Brewers and their 40 million payroll finishing ahead of the Cubs.

Jim Leyland is en route to Detroit to discuss the managerial opening with GM Dave Dombrowski last evening.
Dombrowski also planned to interview Juan Samuel and Bruce Fields in order to keep MLB happy, but it looks like it will be Leyland's job if he wants it. "I am driven to move quickly because I think there could be a lot of interest in Jim Leyland," Dombrowski said.

Sorry to see Tram go a real class guy. Looks like Jim Leyland especially because of experience & connections to Tigers GM. Also I heard Gibson is upset because he wasn't on list to be interviewed.

Heard that Leyland interviewed last night and will interview again today. Dombrowski realizes that Leyland is the best candidate out there and is really making a push to get him locked in before other offers begin to roll in.
