Take the over. This isn't the SEC or GaTech v. NC St or something. This game will get up near if not into the 50s total points. I look for Syracuse to go deep early and often as their running game has been poor thus far. That is one reason they are getting so many points. They can't run the ball this year. I think they pass a lot and there will be some scoring in this one.

poor running?

poor running?

in watchingthe beginning of the SYR VIR game--the commentators couldnt praise the syr RB RHODES enough. From what i understand, he pretty much accouinted for near almost every TD--and was the only yardage gainer til that point. while i did bounce back and forth from the game--only to see how decent HAGANS the VIR QB was in resopnding to throwing 4 INTS. Furthermore, i havent followed UCONN like some of the other guys here--though i do recognize their RB's name caulley--who came up with some decent games if i'm not mistaken last yr (and before?) to make it onto ESPN highlights. and closing--in saying i think patterson is a raw talent with skills--though strikes me a shaky decision maker at times.
all in all, just wanted to gve my two cents as i think you'r not giving CUSE (no longer under pasquarelli) not enough credit in running game--IMHO -t

I am a SU fan so I know their running game is their bread and butter. But it just hasn't worked this year.

syracuse will RUN RUN and RUN some more. They ran for 7 per last yr against these guys. you will see a big physical edge as the games goes on. Edsall said early this year that he had just lost his best SR class. CONN : 7 SR's / 26 JR's & SYR 20/20.... Syr can turn the ball over 3x and still win. I think they get 300 on the ground.

I think that Syracuse staying remotely competitive with FSU (ie. not losing by 50) shows that they have faced far stiffer competition then UCONN and did as well as you could expect them. They are more battle-tested IMO then UCONN.

SU was outclassed vs. Fla St obviously but some bad bounces and a botched punt made the score worse then it was.
