quick question.

UCLA scores on the last play of the game. They DO NOT kick the extra point.

Tennessee scores on the last play of the game. They DO kick the extra point.

Time had expired on both plays. The point after didn't effect either outcome. But, it did affect the Tennessee total.

Is there something I'm missing. It didn't effect any of my wagers, but is there some rule I'm missing??

not an expert on the rules book but i thought i've heard before that if you score on the last play and you're losing you get the extra point opportunity. doesn't make much sense though.

From my experience....NFL executes extra point...NCAA does not.

that was my understanding, too. it's way down the line, but i think points are a tie-breaker for the playoffs in the nfl.

not sure why tennessee kicked the extra point. normally i'd say it was just to screw me, but i was under 39.5, so it didn't matter to me. what a f--k job that was. not that i'm still bitter over the fact that the ball clearly did not cross the goal line. :cursin:

UCLA NOT kicking the extra point WAS important..........as a result, all Cal teasers cashed. If they made the extra point, Cal teasers would have lost

I asked the same question in the local bar and I was told in college it is the coaches choice. I still am not sure, but I needed that score to stop the bleeding.

Thanks IE, so in essence Cal left the field since all bases were covered, but Georgia stayed on the field because the mob was blocking the player tunnels until it hit 41.

IE..so, basically, by Cal being little fags and sore sports, they actually HELPED me by leaving the field...so UCLA COULD NOT even attempt the extra point?

I'm trying to figure out why Cal didn't let UCLA score earlier while they were down by 1 point...instead of letting UCLA run the clock down to nothing, then letting them score on the last play....

I say let UCLA score a bit earlier, be down by 8 points, but at least you have a chance to go back down the field and tie the game up with a minute or more time left....

All they could do is lose the way they played it out...
