get one of these threads started.

I just took a piece of +11.5. Anything over 10 I think is pretty good for now. Can't imagine the line moving up to 13 or even 14. Too much Irish and square money (including mine) gonna be on ND.

Hell, outside of here, theres gonna be a lotta love in that stadium and nationwide for the irish.

smaller play, but can't imagine not having something on it. part of me wants USC to win so UCLA gets a crack at them undefeated. the other part of me wants em to lose.

anyway, fwiw, i think 11.5 is a decent number to grab right now. we'll see what it does during the week.

can't imagine a bigger game for ND since the catholics vs. convicts game with miami.

I have a strong feeling you will be seeing a USC like performance you saw in the Orange Bowl last year against OU vs ND this Sat.

USC is really focused and motivated for this weekends game. USC put up over 700 yards offense against a decent defense from Arizona despite being flat and looking ahead to ND. Oh yeah, USC was very vanilla. Weis has no idea what plays USC will be running and where USC will be attacking his below average D. :)

I'll give you a name to watch out for. USC TE Dominque Byrd. He has NFL 1st round talent yet he has not been used much this year. He caught a $hit load of passes all last week in practice in preparation for ND! :) He is the dude who made 2 one handed TD catches for USC against OU and Oregon St. Both MEANINGFUL TD catches too! The guy is a stud.

I'll post a detailed write-up of my opinions on the game later.

I'm not gonna question USC. They are the number one team in the country for a reason and deserve all their ranking. Will they lose this year? Probably not. No doubt they will bring their best game.

ND has played incredibly well to this point. Rivalry games are just that. I can't think of a more anticipated game this year in college football. Maybe Tex/OSU, but that was a great game too. Point is, I made it a small play. I don't have any facts to back it up. I told myself if I could get over 10 I would take it and I did.

No doubt USC is a better team, but that stadium and ND is gonna be electric. This isn't an away trip to ASU or Oregon....those absolutely pale in comparison to what they are in for. Sure they will probably win. I just think ND will give em everything they got, and 11.5 is enough points for me.

FWIW, I don't think anyone except Texas has a legitimate shot at beating USC on a neutral field. But that won't happen this year. The title game will be a home game for em unless the Irish or Bruins can pull out some magic.

Anyway, gl

if florida state had a little bit more stability at quarterback, i could see them matching up very, very well with usc. its more of a hypothetical, because the chances of fsu running the table in the acc are slim to none. that conference is just too deep. fsu could actually lose this week. but i still think, in a vacuum, that florida state and usc would be a fairly even matchup on paper, except for the quarterback spot. texas and vatech are the two most likely teams to get a shot at usc, and rightfully so. as good as usc is in the 2h of games, no team in the country swings momentum with special teams and defense like virginia tech.

I would take ND ML instead of +11. Thats my opinion.

If USC doesn't play 4 quarters, there is no doubt in my mind USC will lose. USC will not come back down 21-3 @ND and for a 3rd time this year. Weis IMO is a better coach than Koetter. (duh) I pray to God USC plays well for 4 quarters. :mj07:

USC wins BIG or ND wins outright is my prediction. I think USC is coming into this game focused and well prepared. Remember, Weiss got USC's attention as soon as he was hired. Especially with him putting up bulliten board material. Examples are.....

saying to crowd at basketball game, I hope that team from CA comes here OCT. 15th undefeated

saying to his players that he never has lost to Pete Carroll in NFL

couple more I can't remember. But more importantly, Carroll knows Weis is an awesome coach and has 2 weeks to prepare for USC. Carroll knows beating USC means everything to ND this year. Carroll has been preparing for this game a long time! I think he unleashes the playbook against ND and puts on a show for the country + recruits! There is a reason USC for 3 straight years has beaten ND by 31 pts. Carroll will go all out and he has the horses to do it!

That all said, I'll take a 1pt guaranteed victory over ND! :) Weis along with the game @ND has me a little nervous.

Totally agree that the spread won't come into play. Irish win outright or get wiped. Weis made the promise that an Irish football team would never be outschemed again in direct reference to the Southern Cal game last year, so I think he's been working on this gameplan since day one.

Go Irish!! Beat SC!!

I would love to see USC lose (although I once was an enormous fan - man Anthony Davis was something else getting jobbed out of a Heisman Trophy) but it just aint gonna happen. I have a feeling it will be ugly early.

Notre Dame bandwagon gets too big, pep rally for USC game moved to larger venue
As WANE-TV reports,

Notre Dame will hold its pep rally on the eve of its game against top-ranked U-S-C at Notre Dame Stadium, instead of the Joyce Center, because of a large anticipated crowd.

Several thousands students and fans were turned away from the pep rally before the Michigan State game last month because the Joyce Center was filled. It holds more than 11-thousand people for basketball games.

This place is going to be rocking... J. Montana is one of the guest speakers at the event. I can't wait for Saturday.

Just light rain expected in South Bend as of today and temps in the 60's, so weather should not effect the offenses. Should be a classic. I gotta believe there will be serious points scored in this one. Has anyone seen an over/under on this yet?

I'll be there to witness my 15th straight SC-ND game - although with no ticket in hand as of yet (anyone? tickets?).

ill give you a ND name to watch out for - DJ Fitzpatrick... ND down by 1, with :07 left, ball on the USC 27, left hash mark... the kick from this, seems like 10th yr. sr, will be true. btw, the kick will be into the north end zone, with Him, "blessing" the trajectory....

this is the ND rose bowl, superbowl, gator bowl, outback bowl (sponsored by raymond and his parlays) and recruiting bonanza game. love the week off to prepared.

ill be honest, i stopped working, this week, starting last friday...

Kind of funny. I have been watching some film of USC. It seems like every TD pass Leinhart throws the receiver is so open I could get it to him. Half ass watching he looks like one of the greatest QBs ever. But now that I have given it more thought and looked at it closer I am not so sure. Vince Young, Brady Quinn and many others would be undefeated as the USC QB. Not so sure you plug in Leinhart and make that huge a difference on these other teams. It appears to me USC is winning WITH leinhart, not because of him.

I just hopped on the +11.5 because I like Notre Dame's chances at home off a bye week with coach Weis having the extra week to prepare for this one...plus...no one has mentioned the fact that Hb Reggie Bush hurt his knee last week and his status is up in the air at this time...I can see this line dropping to 10 if it's revealed that Bush can't go on Saturday...if that's the case...I think the Irish have an excellent chance at winning this one outright!

I love all you ND fans! Keep hitting that line so it keeps dropping! This Saturday we are going to see why USC is the best team in the country.

all us ND fans... the line is dropping... gas prices are dropping, the sky is falling, valentino rossi needs riding lessons, tiger woods takes up lacrosse, anna kournikova is ugly...

no line is moving!!!

ive got you pegged though... your from columbus and your 0-2. the UT home loss stung and a 102 year outcoached tressel last week while you were -3. you have no chance at a national title. the big ten championship is actually gunna be a race. and, the last thing you need is to see ND with a better record and a better recruiting future.

now listen, why dont you go ahead and "dot the i" in w-I-n when ND beats SC...
