would think that a line will be out shortly. but no matter what the number is -- plus, minus, whatever -- will be backing the white sox. both teams have earned their way into the alcs and it will be a great series, but ive been incredibly impressed with the white sox this year, especially down the stretch. and no, im not talking about when they let the indians gain a ton of ground on them in september. im talking about when they showed me some major major balls and buried the indians in 3 games that meant absolutely nothing to them (and absolutely everything to the indians) on the final weekend. it pains me, with the white sox being a rival of the indians and everything, but i have no problem putting that hatred aside and betting on a team that has really shown me a lot over the last few weeks. i was more impressed with the way they handled the indians in the final 3 than i was of their red sox sweep (which was impressive in its own right). but plus or minus, will be playing chicago to advance to the world series. oh and did i mention id take ozzie guillen over eric wedge any day? if he were the cleveland manager, maybe the indians would know how to bunt and run the bases.

chicago to win the AL

not really. cleveland was/is a much better team than anaheim. and im as objective as they come. thats not a shot at the angels, its simply the way i see it. im just very very impressed with chicago over the two weeks.

With Colon's status doubtful, i have to think that the white sox will be at least -150 fav. and wouldn't surprise me if it were 2-1 or more; i agree tho the White Sox are tough, have the best starting pitching (by far if colon is out), and play great "small ball"

You sound like an intelligent man...gman...Cleveland was/is a much better team then the Angels...PLEASE...The Angels are moving on and the Indians are on the golf course. It was obvious that the Indians youth was exposed down the stretch...This Angel organization is only 3 years removed from a title. For me it`s the Angels representing the american league in the series. The white sox held on for dear life...almost blowing up and chucking a 15 game lead.I will take Scioscia over Ozzie anyday.
Angels in 6.

I will be putting a ton of change on the White Sox tomorrow GMan. I will lay whatever juice there is to lay. Contreras is pithcing better than anybody in baseball right now and he has since the all star break. He has won his last 9 starts with an ERA of 2.08. The Sox are playing great baseball right now winning their last 8 games and are well rested. The angles had to play a late game on Sunday night, fly 6.5 hours through the night, catch and nap and be back on the field to play a late game Monday night. Now they have to fly 3 hours through the night to play a rested and hungry ball club that is playing great right now.

White Sox ML and RL for me!

I already made 2 bets in April

Whitesox to win the AL pennant

$50 to win $450

Whitesox to win the World Series

$50 to win $800

I was thinking about hedging but I will wait maybe until after game one. I reallly think the Sox have a big advantage tomorrow. If they win I will have much better odds to hedge against.

gonna be close either way...anaheim using that loosely of course, just has a way to win..i don't know how they do it, but it seems as if they are never out of a game..more of a play off conditioned team, and come through with a lot of clutch hits...but i'm looking forward to it...no matter who wins though

this is the cardinals year

um, soul train could you name one area where anaheim is better than cleveland? angels have more experience, but theres a reason that some very knowledgable people said that if cleveland got into the playoffs theyd be the favorite to win the AL, even though the lines wouldnt reflect it.

but i really cant take umbrage with anything you said, because at least in this reply, you proved to be a sentient human being capable of putting together a cogent post (as opposed to ripping off writeups from other sources). regardless, i enjoy the banter.

fabulous:

contreras, when he is on, has some of the best stuff in the entire league. he absolutely dominated cleveland last year and this year. it wasnt even funny. and his troubles since coming over to the majors have been with boston anyways. he has been very solid vs the rest of the american league. personally, though, i am a huge fan of freddy garcia. i liked him when he was with seattle and i think hes the best pitcher on that chicago staff, and thats saying something because theyre really deep in the pitching department.

regardless, my play is ON chicago. its not AGAINST anaheim. the angels are a damn good team. theyve got guys who know what it takes to win. i just think chicago is better in all areas. enjoy the series. hope you guys can bring home the pennant

You should not worry about how i conduct my activity...Concentrate on capping your corrupt MAC conference.

12 wins and 2 losses in the MAC this football season. id say my concentration is ok. but ill work on improving. 85.7% is a little subpar, i admit.

as i said before, i have nothing against you. just dont like seeing people rip off write ups and pass them off as their own. not a huge deal. just the principle of it. like i told you before, youre a good enough capper on your own merits where you dont have to do that shit

I don`t label myself a capper...i just enjoy posting my wagered plays of the day.I don`t get paid for what i do....There is nothing wrong with pasting game notes to a wager. But for the most part i do my own research and write ups. When i post a play it is always my play from my head. Ripping off write ups is a strong accusation.I do know 1 thing...this is not the first time i have had a problem with you...you got me banned when i first came aboard the forum in late January(of course you remember)granted it was only for a few hours.I don`t recall the exact circumstances.
Have a good week!

ok this takes the cake as the strangest post ever.
what in gods earth would you be banned for on this site? youve never said anything incendiary to me or in any of my threads, so apparently you have me mixed up times 100 with someone else.

as i said about the writeups before, its not a huge deal. but you were passing them off as your own work for quite awile before someone pointed it out. we're all here for the same reason. information is information. and your info helped. but just credit where its due, because somebody, somewhere took the time to compile those numbers and write that game up, and they deserve the credit. i know if someone was ripping off my writeups, id be flattered, yet id at least want someone to say "hey, found this info elsewhere, hope it helps" or something along those lines. again, just the principle.

take care. but again, youre trippin if you think i had you banned. that doesnt even make sense. (and i didnt even know you were ever banned. for what?)

gman-

i'll answer that for soul for ya....defense,coaching and ummm wins and losses maybe???? oh and of course experience....got mad respect for u with ur mac conference knowledge in hoops and foots but a bit shocked with ur silly comment that "cleveland is/was a much better team then the angels"....yes u are pretty objective cuz i've followed u for a couple years here and have seen it but im not sure where the objectivity was with that one....anyway good luck with ur balls to the walls play on chisox....not sure its a no-brainer :)

GMan leave him alone. That research on the Golden State Warriors was priceless.

And you know you have a short fuse, especially when folks rag on Monmouth's whimpy non-conference schedule or question the virtues of Lake Erie as a tourist mecca.

Now excuse me while I try and remove my tongue from my cheek.

lmao

lets eat:

i have no problem with your post. you points are well taken. defense, would have to agree. coaching, would have to agree. so youre absolutely right on those two. im not sure you can use wins/losses to say who is better because 95 vs. 93 is a coin flip. while the indians had to play chicago, who had the most wins in the AL, they also got to beat up on kansas city an equal number of times. so those can be skewed. i wont use that as an advantage/disadvantage for cleveland.

when i said cleveland was better, the areas that jumped to mind were:

hitting
starting pitching
bullpen

regardless, anaheim is a damn good baseball team. just think the indians were better this year, and im not even an indians fan. sure, i woulda liked to see them in the playoffs but they didnt deserve to get in with the way they played the final week

no problem with your post at all. i asked for reasons and you gave them to me.

I was reading a thread from quite a while ago...you and some dude were going at it...he kept bringing up that you live at home with your parents and you are 42 years old.He was harping on that throughout your verbal confrontation.I was actually laughing my ass off...you seemed lost for words when he kept bringing that up.Is the cost of living that high in Cleveland?
