Blame the catcher Paul. All he had to do was tag A.J. just in case, and the Angels would've been out of the inning. That was a moronic decision by Paul to throw the ball back to the mound. You don't ever take anything for granted, especially when the stakes are this high. That's why he is the 3rd string catcher.

EDDINGS said on his interview he never signalled out, only the third strike......

ESPN showed him CLEARLY signally the OUT..... he f**ked up, just admit it. I can deal with human error, just not denial.

Doesn't matter, ANGELS clinch at home. Case closed.

P.S.

EVEN a 3RD string major leaguer KNOWS when he catches the ball clean or not, there should have been no question on the HP ump's part. NO ONE, and I mean NO CATCHER tosses the ball when there is a question which leads me me to believe, EDDINGS called him out as well as signalling, then just blanked out for some stupid reason....

I cant remember ever seeing a catcher catch a similar ball and not tag the batter. You always tag the batter if hits the dirt, or if it looks like it hit the dirt. You see the batter walk away, and turn and look back. It almost is like "why didn't he tag me?" They both messed up. And how about the post game press thing. I cant ever remember seeing one with an umpire. Wild post season shit going on. Remember the debacles last year? Twice after the plays in Yankee games, the umps actually took runs off the board. After huddling up and discusiing the plays, while glancing at the replay.
I think Enrico Palazo could have done a better job. And that horseshit calls the other night in the Yankees game.
