For Saturday I locked into these 3 dogs:
Michigan State +7.5 (-120)
Risking $1,200 to win $1,000
Northwestern +7.5 (-110)
Risking $1,100 to win $1,000
San Jose State +31 (-110)
Risking $1,100 to win $1,000
I consider Michigan State and Northwestern to be live dogs, was considering making a ML play on both, really feel at least one wins outright...but I'll take the points...
San Jose State - this is more of a play against Boise State than anything else...I follow Boise State very closely - really rode them over the past few years especially during the dinwiddie years and when they seemed to cover every number under the sun...however if any of you have been following Boise - this year has really been a struggle - they failed to cover a few weeks ago against hawaii - heck they were lucky to win that game - and last week they only won 14-7 at home vs. a division AA ball club - wow! They have a huge home winning streak - not suggesting they will lose or anything - but i feel right now this team cannot beat anyone by 31 points - even at home...
If you go back to last season - now i'm not big on trends going on over past seasons etc - but Boise State played at San Jose State and were -33 point faves - well i remember that game well - one of my largest plays of the year was on SJS +33 and they could have won the game - Boise State came back to win 56-49 - but never were close to covering -33 points...well this ballclub is not even as good as last year - and i know it's at home - but Boise is just not going to play good enough defense to shut out SJS - SJS has averaged 23ppg and 19 ppg on the road - now let's say they score 19 this forces Boise to score 51 to get the cover and win by 32...i'll force Boise to play a perfect game, something i have yet to see - maybe they will - but i think odds are against that happening...take the generous points here...
