The correspondent, Michelle Kosinski, was doing her report while paddling around in a canoe because it seemed the flooding was a good five feet high. But, suddenly two men in waders WALKED RIGHT BY HER CANOE and right through the "flood". Turns out the water Michelle was paddling through was only a COUPLE OF INCHES DEEP and the entire report was staged!
Michelle swore to Katie and Matt that the flooding was DEEPER in other areas, but they oh-so-wittily ripped her, ON THE AIR, for being in the canoe like a tool. Matt asked if the two guys who had walked by were HOLY MEN walking on the water, and Katie asked her if her canoe paddle was SCRAPING THE GROUND. For the West Coast "Today" show, the whole canoe bit was GONE and Michelle delivered her report standing in the water.
