allowing the All-star game winner to have HF in WS ... (i tried researching to see if this rule was still in effect, Im guessing it is since white sox host)

is a arena football shenanigan necessary in the oldest pro team sport we know?

I hear Stern is going to do same thing in NBA, i mean its such a good idea and is so fair and makes fans care so much about rooting for their team/league in each all-star game...

how long is this travesty and carny huckstering ala Don King going to go on?

Im really shocked purists arent pissed on this and topic doesnt come up more.

And if you don't think it FX the WS, you are wrong--it will, and it obviously FX WS lines

comments?

if you're the best team, then win the 4 games. if you can't win without the home field then tough luck. i too think its a horrible idea but home field isn't as huge as it is in the other sports. you don't see teams go 75-6 or something like that. however there are always a team or two that goes about 38-3 in the nba. this only comes into play if the cards go to the ws anyways since cws had a better record than hou. cws is a great road team so i don't think it would make a difference to them. too bad stl can't say the same thing. first win in hou in the playoffs in two years.

The home field situation has to do with the 7-7
tie in the all star game a few years back. They are
trying to bring the competitive edge back to the
all star game.

tell the twinkies about no Dome advantage--tore my cards new a-holes there in '87 and couldnt beat them in stl for life ... its mickey mouse to all star game benefit someone, HF is HF and it means somethng even if its 1% (obviously its a hell of lot more than that) look at HOU, their lead beat writer said city thinks team is gonna lose now away from home ... averages will out ... baseball should make things equal ... anyhow, my POV on this subject ...

Cardinal trivia: i do know that the last 3 times the cards didnt have HF they lost WS ... LY, 87 lost in 7, 85 lost in 7 ... they won at home in 82 (won games 6 and 7) lost at home in game 7 vs Deet in '68; won at Boston in game 7 in '67; won at home in game 7 in '64 vs Yanks, won at home vs Bosox in '46 in 7 games .... B4 last year, Cards had played 7 straight 7 game WS ...

thanx for commenting, guys
