Not looking for just a pick here. I want to hear everyone's thought process on this one.

Hard to say.......will the Astros be down tonight after the wild loss the other night?
The cards are rejuvenated and could be tough for the Stros now.

IMO Houston needs to come out and get on the board in the first inning. St. Louis is going to go nuts when Pujols comes to the plate in the bottom of the first. Houston can take a little wind out of their sails by putting up 1 or 2 in the top of the first. Suffice to say this feeds right into my over play tonight, but its part of the reason I'm playing the over in the first place! Regardless, there are two top-notch pitchers starting tonight - IMO it will be a 1-run game. Hopefully Brad Lidge will not try to throw that damn slider so much - he's got 95-97 mph heat!

I think what Pujols did to the Astros last game propels the Cards to the WS. I've been shopping for the best odds on St. Louis to win the whole thing. I briefly saw +450 at Carib, now the best I've seen is +412 at 5Dimes. #1, I see the Cards winning games 6 and 7 (even vs. Clemons) and #2, I see LaRussa outmanaging Guillen to get the Cardinals the World Series in 6 games. If anyone has happened upon odds better than +412, please post where -- this looks like a juicy number to me...

Being an ex-college catcher I know what its like to lose games the way the Astros did. It's downright DEVASTATING. If you want to call it luck that no team or just 1 or 2 teams have ever comeback from a 3-1 deficit to win it all then so be it but my money will be on the Cards to win this thing outright. That was such a HUGE blow to this team. They will not recover especially being in front of all RED fans that are just going to be going crazy every batter that comes up to bat. I think GBP1979 hit the nail on the head with the over but my logic is that both these teams have seen these 2 pitcher's and will have better at bats especially the cards with the more powerful lineup. Also expect for LaRussa to do better managing. I don't think he will let Berkman beat him at home as he almost did Monday night.

Just my thoughts.

Coin toss ......either Houston dies from being beat the way they were in the last game ....or their mad as hell and crush them ...who knows . Would love to see it go 7 and bring on the Cards !

Where are you getting 7 for o/u?

Most books I see are 7.5 with a lot of juice on the under.

someone hit the cards hard at 5:1 because it has dropped to 4:1 now.

Two must win games coming up and then take on the CWS.... :mj03:

i'll say this about the line changes....."smart books" throughout the day have moved in favour of the cards ie: pinnacle -147 to -149 and "smart-challenged books" have moved for the stros ie: SIA -155 to -145

fwiw...re: that wind.....ive looked at two weather reports . 1 said 8mphN the other said 11mphN......this is out to RF.....which would favour the cards (against a rightie)....also to note, in busch this season out to right wind was 4-0 for the over and 3-1 for the cards

Been watching the lines  for the game tonight.

When I first looked I saw the line at O/U 7.5 and the public was 50/50.

As the day went on the Over got up to 56%.

I just looked right now and it is Under 59%.

Just wondering if I missed something. I thought most of the posts today were all going for the over

money is definately on the under....for the better or worse i dont know.....and pinnacle, compared to other books, is inviting money on the over....but if that's getting a lot of money on the under or them being sharp is anyones guess
