YTD: 14-11
2 unit plays: 2-1
Last week: no plays

Sat out last week, my computer broke and I didn't really love the card as it was.

Auburn +6....the Tigers are 10-4 in the last fourteen vs top ten teams, winning last 4 in a row. Thirteen straight SEC wins, and I feel that Auburn has improved greatly in the past month or so. The offense has come alive and we all know that the defense is still one of the best in that nation. Take the Auburn swarming defense, coupled with LSU's inability to hold onto the ball lately, and I think we have a close game on our hands. Don't know if this game will be as defensively based as it was last season, but the close result should be the same.

UCLA -9...Oregon State is leading the Pac Ten in turnovers, and is usually a good fade on natural grass. UCLA has started slow in lately but they can still score points in bunches. Back to back road games for the Beavers and I do no think this is a good spot for them. If they continue to turn the ball over the Bruins' offense is going to pounce.

Looking at a few others -- best of luck.

Thanks for the well wishes guys.

Looking at Oregon, Col State and Oklahoma State right now. Actually like the Ducks in this spot but hate that I missed out on a much better line earlier in the week. Double digit road chalk is usually a bad idea. With the other two I have leans to both but will see what the line movement looks like.

Two plays in the Pac Ten, I might be going nuts.

Arizona State -10...Sun Devils needed that bye week in a big way, after getting their bell rung by USC in the 2nd half and by Oregon two weekends ago. Now well rested, they step down big in class when they travel to Stanford. The Cardinal defense is giving up 28ppg and is just what Sam Keller and crew needs to build back some confidence. Look for the ASU offense roll and use this game as a bit of an ego stroke.

Oklahoma State???? :sadwave:

As I said, just a lean. A crazy one at that. When I post that I have a lean on a team, it just means I'm going to put in some more research on them. After taking some time looking further into that game, I came to a conclusion that I already knew -- Oklahoma State is a team I will not be putting a penny on in 2005.

Thanks for calling me out on it, the fact that I even entertained the idea is pretty laughable :mj07: (now watch them keep this game close, murphy's law.)

Blackman,

I am not saying that it is impossible for Okie State to cover.

It would be very unlikely in my opinion, but not impossible.

I have seen crazier things happen in the past.

I would hate to talk you out of a play, and then they cover.

I just couldn't justify putting money on a team that looks like a high school bunch.

It always works that way though.

Like you said, you will lay off and then they will probably keep it close.

Good luck whatever you decide with that one, but personally I am putting a decent amount on Iowa State this week. I just feel that they need a win very badly after 3 straight tough losses, and who better to play than Okie State? I just feel that they will take out their frustration on them in this one.

Iowa State 45-17. JMO.

Like the angle, that's the approach I feel that Arizona State will take as well. Big step down in competition (yes even compared to Baylor) and as a result they will beat up on a weak opponent.

Oklahoma St is also only 6-17 in their last 23 as a road dog so we know they do not travel well.

The only reason I leaned to the Cowboys originally was because I wasn't ultra confident in Iowa State putting up enough offense to cover this line. As long as you are sure they will put up 31, you should be golden.

Good luck.

Blackman,

I just feel this will be a breakout game for Iowa State on offense and defense.

As far as Arizona State and Oregon, I like them both. The only thing I don't like is that they both look so easy. Also, they are both on the road, which I don't like, and they are both laying chalk.

I just hate laying chalk like this on the road, especially in the Pac-10, where anything is possible.

I definitely think that both favorites will win the game, I am just not sure about them both getting the cover.

I like the reasoning that AZ ST. should be really focused this week after the two consecutive losses. They are also playing a team that is really not that good at all.

With Oregon, they should blow these guys out, but I am wondering if they just come in here with that cocky attitude and maybe Arizona comes up big. Not sure.

Still not sure on either 2 games, but I like both favorites.

Usually when these games look too easy, I lay off.

Still thinking though.

Good luck.

Oregon might be a pass. I haven't been on them during this hot streak and I do not like to hop on board with these teams when they are due for a letdown game. I think Arizona stinks, but I agree with you anything can and usually does happen out in the Pac Ten.

Love to know what I was thinking taking Pac Ten road chalk.

Oh well still a decent day.
