my GOD, i just spent what is hopefully the worst night of my life both past AND future!!!!!!!!
keep in mind this is coming from a country music fan, but i just got back from working concessions to raise money for my daughters *robotics* team, and for a 6.5 hr. ordeal, we only got $25 per person.
just HOW much below minimum wage is that?????????? :cursin:
i worked at a concert of Unearthed? , As I Lay Dying, and Slipknot, and OMG...i'm DEAF!!!!! by a long shot, As I Lay Dying was the worst of 3 total EVILS.
to top it all off, i get home to check game results, and went 0-3 on the night....
they BEGGED for people to volunteer for this concert, so i wormed my way out of volunteering for the fall festival at my son's elementary school to raise more money towards my daughters fees. (we need to raise $500 per kid) and i've now reached my goal, but am still scheduled as volunteering for 3 more events. At least the Mallards hockey game tomorrow, the Dolly Parton concert and the Keith Urban concert will be more tolerable to listen to
i only THOUGHT the Anthrax/Judas Priest Concert was bad before tonight. and both of those made the Greenday concert seem like a piece of cake. (REO Speedwagon/Styx i volunteered for cuz i KNEW i was gonna like listening to...LOL)
to top tonight off completely, i got exactly 1.50 in tips....LOL
the moral of the story is.......NEVER volunteer to work for something that is gonna be mostly kids too young to drink, that spent all their allowance on tickets so can't afford concessions and have never even HEARD of tipping!!!!
at least at all the other concerts, i've raised an average of $80 per night towards fees. tonight just SUCKED, and i only did it cuz the BEGGED, not because i'd scheduled myself for it.
sure hope the hockey opener is a big money maker, or i'm DONE with this concessions crap and i write them a CHECK!!!
