Ohio St. -5.5 over Minnesota: The Gophers are settling into their late season fade after screwing up the Wisconsin game (why not take a safety and free kick from your 20?). This is typical Minnesota football--beat up on some bad programs (Tulsa, FAU) early and then fall apart in the Big 10. If not for Michigan's defense being the only 11 people in Michigan Stadium not realizing Minny was trying to run out the clock, the Gophers might be in the middle of a three game losing steak. As it is now, they are facing Ohio St. and Sparty at home and Iowa and Indiana on the road. They need to win one of those to be bowl eligible but it won't be this weekend. The Buckeyes are rejuvenated after stealing a win from MSU and pounding the Hoosiers and will roll over the Golden Gophers. Ohio St. eats up one-dimensional teams and Minny is exactly that. Cupito is little better this year but still is not good enough to beat you with his arm.

Division I-AA

Division I-AA

Hofstra +2 over Rhode Island: Hofstra should be able to throw the ball all over the field on URI. Rhode Island has a great rushing attack but Hofstra is strong enough up front to force them to throw. I have Hofstra -6 by my numbers so I like them at +2.

Cornell +9.5 over Princeton: Two fairly evenly matched teams. Princeton has only won by more than 3 only once all year. Take the points.

Jacksonville St. -20.5 over Tennessee Tech: Tech is bad defensively and Jacksonville St. can score. Defensively, Jacksonville St. will be much better than the teams Tech has played in the last three weeks. This one should get a little messy.

E. Washington -10 over Sacramento St.: I don't understand this line. EWU had a tough loss last week when they led going into the 4th quarter but even with a letdown they are much better than Sacramento St. EWU should put a ton of points on the scoreboard and Sac won't be able to keep up.

William & Mary -10 over Villanova: This should be wild one as both teams are pretty good on offense. But, W&M plays decent defense and Villanove doesn't. W&M should gradually build up a comfortable lead in this one.

For the true degenerates...

For the true degenerates...

I like Kissimmee Osceola HS +45 over Lakeland. Even though the game is on TV and Lakeland is #1 in the nation, they have only covered a number this big once. I think they will roll up a big lead in the first half (actually tempted to lay the H1 line of 28) and then let the AYOs play on TV. Kissimmee has only won 2 games but they have some speed that should enable them to score once, which should be enough.

I like the Eastern Wash. one even though they have a lot of injuries.

Take a look at Southern Utah +16.5. NDSU is reeling right now and that is a hell of a lot of points for them to lay coming off 2 straight losses. They will be lucky to score 17.

It was 18 so I don't think you are gonna get 17. It dropped quick cause they realized they screwed it up...they tend to do that with these lines! You are safe at 16.5, me thinks. Buy the half if you don't like it.

Indiana +18.5 over Sparty: Hoosiers hung around last week until getting worn down by the strong Buckeye defense. That won't be a problem this week against Michigan St.'s non-existent defense. Sparty is in a free-fall since pissing away the Ohio St. game and John L. won't get them back on track this year. Indiana will keep at them the whole game and have enough offense to stay within the number. Two unit play.

That's a tough one. Michigan has been living on the edge all season long. They are a few bounces from being 8-0 and also a few from being 2-6. But, their defense is showing signs of life and they are starting to get the ball to their playmakers. If they go into this game saying they need to score 50 to win and open things up, they will score at will against NW's defense. But, NW is playing with confidence even though they have a long way to go to win the Big 10 with Iowa coming town and a trip to Columbus on the schedule. It's tough to rely on your offense week in and week out to win games for you.

Michigan is not real solid as a road favorite but with the shootout we are going to see I'm not sure I would feel secure just getting three with a defense like NW. If I had to I'd lay the three (but I think it will be 2.5 by gametime since everyone seems to be on NW) but I'll just stay away from this one.

Three totals...

Three totals...

Wisconsin/Illinois under 59.5: I don't think can play much worse than last week against PSU but that game has bumped this total up a few points. Wisconsin won't be too interested in this game with PSU up next and will be content to sit on a big halftime lead. Illinois has only scored 14 once in Big 10 play and that was against Sparty. I can't see them scoring more than two TDs today which means Wisconsin has to get 45 or so. They've only done that once in the Big 10 so the under is the play here.

Miami(OH)/Temple under 58: Redhawks dodged a bullet last week against EMU but should not have the same problem this week against the Owls. Temple is not capable of putting many points on the board, even against Miami's mediocre defense and Miami is not the offensive juggernaut some people expected. They have been over 40 points just twice this year and one of those games was the Akron game where they scored 21 in about 90 seconds. 35-10 Miami.

Ohio/Buffalo under 38.5: I was able to find a couple of 39's out there but I'll call it 38.5. As gman implied, it won't matter. Bad weather, bad teams, disinterested fans, this one is not one to watch.

Toledo -7 over CMU: I've been waiting for this to get to 7 and I found it at a couple of places (actually saw a 6.5 too). The Chips have faced two running teams in the last two games (Ohio and Army) but they haven't seen anything like what Toledo can put on the field. The Rockets' defense has quietly put together a pretty good season too. CMU is the popular pick but I'll take the Rockets to teach the up and coming program a lesson today.

:mj14: Along with you with Ohio State. Got them at -4. Teased them with Texas Tech, Ucla, and Penn ST. I feel that OS will smother the one headed running attach in minnesota. The vikings aren't the only team in Minnesota that just finds away to break fans hearts and get into trouble. Many feel with two weeks to prepare they should be ready. The big question is what did they do in there bye week? Take a cruise on Lake Minnetonka? :mj07:
