With the death of Wellington Mara this week you will see a Giant team inspired to play today. The fact that it is against our rival Redskins makes this game even more inspirational. The death of Mara will have an impact on all the Giant players.Loved and respected by all his players and coaches.Sam Huff said it best the other day."A lot of football teams don't want the owner around but the Giants did"."He was the man".Never missed a practice, shook the players hand in the lockerroom after every win or loss. His famos "once a Giant, alway a Giant".The funeral had Parcells.Belchick,Gifford,LT,etc.The eulogy at St Patricks was one of the greatest I've ever read. His son was unreal.Had me in tears. When John Mara talked about the last scene in "Saving Private Ryan" when the eldery Ryan visits the grave site of the men who died saving his life."Overcome with emotion,he turns to his wife and asks her,"Have I been a good husband,a good father,a good person".She answers yes and you were the best example of how we should all live our lives...John tied that story to his father.Pretty powerful... St Pats had the bagpipes, amazing grace, and hundreds of men who wore the red, white and blue crying.
The last line about Wellington was " he is at the right hand of his longtime head coach in heaven".

Guys, not going to talk about the Skins and there potent offense,Porter running,Moss and Brunell resurgence. There blitz package,5th ranked pass defense, etc.
Today is the Giants day. This team is focused and inspired. Many don't believe in this things. But Coughlin will have my Jints beating a better team in the Meadowlands. When Coughlin was named head coach Wellington shook his hands and said "welcome home".
The picture of a fan in the stands holding a banner said it all.

Sec.232 Row 9
says
God Bless you Mr Mara

FB..think were OK today
AR..I remember those days.Jimmy Brown was the greatest I ever saw.And I remember Gene Hickerson a pulling guard[think #66] going right headhunting on little Willie Williams #41 and Spider Lockhart #43.Both DB's weighed about 150 pounds, right?
Edludes...all I want suited up is #45 Homer Jones. That would be enough.

Taking the Giants,the over
Also Jags,KC-SD over and TB.Love Pitt tomr nite.
Go big blue...

I don't talk smack here.I didn't do it as a HS coach for many years.I never let my players do it.I don't do it now.But after watching my Giants play today I'm going to talk big time .................naaaa.I'll take the win.Big Blue made me proud today.I know Wellington is looking down on the Meadowlands.
Jints did play with inspiration. The announcer said "the Skins are flat today".That's a cop out.The Jint defense dominated them.Total domination. The stats are unreal.
That fan in Section 232,Row 9 said it all."God Bless you Mr.Mara".

Going to take my wife and daughter out to a nice place to eat now.
Congrads to all you guys out there that had the Big Blue today.Nice win FB..

Box you are allowed to be proud of the Giants today, May Mr Mara's soul rest in peace. He was a special man!

Jim Brown,...#32. Yes, you guys may have a year or two on me I first watched him as a ten year old fan in 1964, my first year of watching NFL football. He was special on the field.

Box, thanks for the play I actually had the Skin's in a pool, but played the Giants today on your inspiration. Looking forward to your insight in college hoops.
