I'm only 38 and in my life there was never a running back who

could play at the level of Walter "Sweetness" Payton !!!!!!!!!1

I know there are alot of people out there that compare LT to Payton, but I think they're crazy. LT is a great running back, but you just cant compare to everything Payton had.

Definitely in my Top 3 favorite all-time! ...on and off the field :) First cool football card I remember getting was his '77 (2nd year card) with the "1,000 yarder" emblem on it. ...Of course I built too many card houses with it, so it's not worth much beyond sentiment. That year he broke the single game rushing record getting 275 against the Vikings.

Best Ever............Most Class of any athlete I have even seen.......

I still cant believe how Ditka or whomever did not make sure he had the TD in the super bowl........

For all he stood for and meant to the Bears and the NFL ........if I were the coach I would have given him the ball 4 straight times..........of course with Walter it would have only taken 1 handoff.................

My favorite Walter Payton moment......

Jimmy Mac comes into the Minny game as things are looking bleak and scores three td's on the road.

On one td, Minny d-back was flying through the middle of the o-line thinking he was going to crush an already injured qb. Payton was the blocking back on the play. Came across from one side and BRUTALLY cuts down the flying d-back in mid-air! McMahon, with time, launches the ball far downfield for a td.

Outside of all the talent Payton has, I have never seen a better block in my life.
