You seem to be the expert on MAC schools. Any opinion on Akron -3 @ Ball St. I am thinking Akron -3 but still not sure wanted to see if you had any input about the game.

Gman will normally breakdown all the MAC games for the week. I would wait until that thread comes out and ask him in there. He is usually answers questions inside of his thread. If he hasn't posted it for this week (haven't looked), I would guess he may not be around this week, or hasn't had time yet

Not Gman, but do know a thing or two about the Zips, and the thought of backing Akron as a road chalk is about as appealing as the thought of going down on Janet Reno.

You may survive the ordeal,, but I wouldn't do it.

as spang can attest, the rule for capping the university of akron is simple, and it applies to both football and basketball:

when they're a dog, always give them consideration. when they're a chalk, consider steering clear unless you're convinced they're definitely the right side.

its uncanny how many times this team rises up as an underdog and stays inside the number (see: outright win at bowling green last week... see also: outright win against northern illinois), but fails as a chalk (see: outright loss to army as a 9-pt favorite.. see also: outright loss to central michigan as an 11-pt favorite)

now are they better than ball state? absolutely. ball state is not a good football team, regardless of what happened last saturday when the world came of its axis and bsu won outright as a 30-pt dog.

and the zips are 4-0 when they rush for more than 100 yards, and 0-4 when they dont..... and ball state has the nation's worst rushing defense. so the zips could get it done. but this team is far too inconsistent to lay road points with.

i agree with spang, its not worth the aggravation. even if akron wins 31-10, you've made a wise decision to avoid playing a team that is incredibly erratic on the road

then again, per some guys here, i have no clue what im talking about and just like to hear myself talk. i dont know much about these teams. just found out yesterday that ball state was in indiana. thought it was in florida.

Yeah, all I really was going on is how bad Ball State is. Staying away from the chalk on the road.
Thanks Gman2
