I was watching the game kinda halfway while playing poker at a buddies house. I had a bet on the home team, and I was hoping they would punch it in, but time was also running out. They had about a 3rd and 6 while on the 15 and made a first down on a run. The camera then panned up to the stands, and these 2 college aged kids were dancing around and high fiving. I couldn't hear the announcers commentary, but I was lmao because I knew they were happy thinking they were going to get the cover, lol. After UofL scored, they panned up to them again, and they looked like they had won the lottery. Question is this... Did the announcers mention anything about the spread or their thoughts why they thought those 2 kids were so happy? Thanks if you saw it and know the answer.

They didn't mention anything about the spread, but kind of surprised they were so happy since it was obvious L'ville had already won. We all know why they were dancing ...it was about the same moment i started dropping F'bombs, knowing that the Pitt ticket was a loser. Well i guess you could kind of feel it 3 or 4 minutes into that 9 minute or w'ever drive they had at the end.

T-Gary probably heard the same thing I did. I was listening to the Louisville broadcast and they flat out said "That touchdown made alot of gamblers happy as it covered the spread..." (or very close to that) - I had to laugh because I had Louisville also.

Saw the two guys and thought the same thing because they showed them after the TD celebrating, and then they showed them REALLY celebrating after the extra point. I was thinkin to myself, they must have gotten it at 21 at their local or something!!

Of course maybe they just REALLY like Elvis!!

I wish Tirico or Herbstreit would have had the stones to say something about the spread .

At least Tirico is able to pronounce Louisville the correct way. Herbstreit mispronounced it every single time. The correct way to say it is Loo-uh-vul. There is no hard "e" sound in the word.

I had louisville teased down to 14.5, and I'm glad all us Louisville backers pulled that one out, that last drive even secured myteased down over too, but I have to admit, PITT definately played well enough to NOT lose that game by 22 points.

Louisville nailed that last FG with like 30 ticks left in the 3rd quarter and PITT got the kickoff at their 20. So PITT's down two scores right, what do you do, particularly with a team thats much better passing the ball? You start throwing the ball, maybe mixing it up with an occassional first OR second down run. NOPE, Pitt engineers a 13 play drive that nets only 43 yards while EATING up 6 minutes of valuable clock time, and results in a PUNT, thats right a PUNT.
Lets just say, by the end of that drive, it was hard to tell PItt was down by 15 points. More than half the plays were running plays, including FOUR STRAIGHT run plays, and 5 out of 6 were runs at one point. Wheres the urgency? I was watching the NE patriots last weekend as they trailed the Bills on sunday night football. Patriots were down 9 with like 10 minutes to go. What did they do? PASS PASS PASS and scored a touchdown in like 2 minutes. Granted the miles of separation between those two programs right now, reigning superbowl champs and the Wondstadt led Panthers. But you dont have to be a genius, or even a football head coach to know that a running drive that eats up almost half a quarter of football is NOT the way to win a football game when you need to come back from 15 points down. POOR PITT

they are not allowed

they are not allowed

it is espn policy, they were not allowed to mention the spread, or about them covering.
all the networks have it in their contracts....

announcers during the game shall not bring up ANY aspects of gambling.

dont know why its ok to do it pregame or after the game, but not in game? kinda stupid, i think

yeah the announcers actually said quote "i dont have any idea what they are so happy, this game is completely out of reach"

the rubbed salt in the fact that they couldnt mention a spread.
