Michigan/Indiana under 52: The Wolverines spent last week getting healthy and preparing for the Buckeyes. They will come out flat against the Hoosiers while they try to establish the running game. Indiana doesn't have the rush defense to stop Michigan so the Wolverines will grind it down the field and build a solid lead. In the second half, Lloyd will sit on the lead and shut down the passing game just like against Northwestern. Michigan's defense has shown remarkable improvement over the last 3 games or so and should be able to hold IU to 2 scores or less. Michigan's games have gone over this number only twice this year (against Sparty in OT and against EMU). Probably 31-10 Michigan.

I think they could look way ahead and still win. I just don't think they will be real sharp playing a mediocre team with the big game the following week. It will be interesting to see if Michigan is a home dog against the Buckeyes. When is the last time that happened? After the Minnesota debacle I wouldn't have given Michigan a chance against OSU but now, with the way the defense is playing, I think they have a chance. I don't buy that Tressel owns Carr crap. If Marquise Walker doesn't drop a pass in the end zone Tressel's first year, Michigan wins that one. Braylon Edwards got called for a questionable offensive pass interference 3 years ago that nullified a TD. Two years ago Michigan pounded them in Ann Arbor and last year OSU returned the favor. This rivalry is the same as it has always been, two competitive teams where home field is key. Ohio State getting points at home last year was money in the bank. The same would be true this year if Michigan is a dog.

Division I-AA

Division I-AA

Furman -10 over Wofford: Grab this one quick before it goes higher. Furman had a tough loss last week but they are still a very good team. Wofford is too one-dimensional to move the ball consistently against Furman's athletic defense.

Hampton -19.5 over Florida A&M: Hampton trying to close out an undefeated regular season. They are very strong defensively and A&M's 107th ranked offense won't change that. This one will get messy in a hurry. Two unit play.

Mississippi Valley St. +6.5 over Alabama St.: These two teams are evenly matched both offensively and defensively. I'll take the points with the home team.

Jacksonville St -6.5 over Samford: Both teams just finished the Tennessee Trail (games vs. Tech, Martin and State). Jacksonville St. went 3-0 with 3 blowouts, Samford went 2-1 with a close win. I have this one lined at -17 so lay the 6.5 on the road.

South Dakota St. +10 over North Dakota St.: Too many points in a rivalry game like this. I'm guessing all 500 people that live in the Dakotas will be at this game. Give me the double digits.

Murray St. -22 over Austin Peay: Two bad teams but Austin Peay is one of the worst in Division I-AA. Murray St.'s last home game should be enough to get a good effort. I hate laying points with bad teams but it is really hard to fathom how bad AP is.

Purdue -23 over Illinois: I don't see the Illini putting up much of a fight on the road against Purdue. Illinois' defense is bad and their offense ineffective. Purdue will close their season with three straight wins after losing six straight before that. Even though their defense is weak, they should have enough fight in their last home game to shut down Illinois. Boilers should score around 42. I can't see Illinois scoring enough to cover this number.

Minnesota/Michigan St. under 68: Even though Michigan St. screwed up their season they still have a chance to go to a bowl game. And even though their defense has been poor this year, they do a decent job stopping the run (last week being an exception), which is Minnesota's strength. Sparty has only gone over this number twice (vs. Illinois and in OT vs. ND). Minnesota is already bowl-eligible but is playing its final home game. They have only gone over this number when they give up a special teams score or go to overtime. This will be a fairly competitive game with Minnesota protecting a lead late. I don't have enough confidence in John L. Smith to take the points but under 68 should be good.

Troy/Arkansas St. under 49: Who is going to score in this one? Arkansas St. has shown the last two weeks that they really struggle against any defense not named Lafayette, Monroe, or Martin. Troy has been solid defensively but weak offensively. Both teams are in the middle of the Sun Belt mess so I'm not worried about one team quitting. 17-13 Troy.

Iowa/Wisconsin over 52: Neither team real strong defensively, both offenses capable of putting points on the board. I have this in the high 50's.

Michigan/Indiana under 24 (2nd half): Lloyd will shut down the offense in the second half (if he can, Indiana is rotten). But, even if Michigan scores a couple times, it doesn't look like Indiana will score again. 2 unit play.

Florida International +10 (-112) over Louisiana Lafayette: Too many points for ULL to cover. They are not good enough defensively to cover this big of a number. ULL's last 4 conference games have been decided by a FG and FIU's last 3 have been by a TD or less.

NC State +6 (-112) over BC: I'll take 6 vs. a team that is struggling at the QB position right now. I like NC State to win outright in a low scoring game.

If Guts doesn't turn the ball over in the 4th, we would have gotten the game under, too. Tough loss with Jacksonville St. as they missed an extra point late in the game. Need a good 4th quarter by NC St. to finish up a small winning day.
