looking for some good feedback about playing 7 point teasers, or any teasers for that matter. i have never been an advocate of playing them.

just looking for a good arguement - for or against playing them.

thanks in advance.

If you handicap a game within 7 points of the number, then a teaser can be a good thing. If the outcome follows your handicapping, it's even better.

If you tease a side and get blown out, then it's time to rethink your handicapping methods.

I know most people say it's a sucker bet, but I have used them with some good success this year. I only tease with key numbers....like taking a -8 down to -2....or taking a dog that I like catching 6...and moving to 12. I think teasing a 29 down to a 23..or something like that is pretty foolish. But still, working around key numbers can be pretty valuable.

Actually, I have been taking one team as a 'wheel' (or the first team in each tease) and pairing up with 3 or 4 other teams that I like. It can be Russian Roulette if that first team loses....but if it comes thru, you are catching an additional 6-7 points on your other games.

I try not to force the issue, but if there is a game that I really like that works around a 3 or a 7, I'll give it a whirl. Only in football though....I see absolutely no value in teasing basketball....

Not sure if that helped?!?! :)

Teasers!
I hate the bitches. They should just give it up once and for all and cut all the crap.

Seriously, they can have value if you play several games that you feel are tight :) or close. Play more than a 2 teamer, at least 4 or more.

Hit a 6-teamer last week in NCAA where two of the wins were only possible with the 6 pt. tease and 2 other games fell on both sides of the tease (close). Just don't make a habit of it.

Teasers, interesting.......

i have a friend that swears by them, they make up 90% of his action..........every once in a while he'll go on a hot streak and win 1 or two of them but other than that, no success.........

stay away, unless you can get 10 or 13 points off your book, then it might be worth looking at.

thanks

I like 6-7 pt teasers for NFL and in the right situations for College. I like to find home favorites of 10 or less and tease them to 2' or less. Also, I look for dogs getting around 3 and tease them up to 10 or so if the total is below 35. Basketball teaser are a joke, never do those. My local lets me tease 2 games at 6 pts each for Football no juice for an even money payout. Every 1/2 pt over the 6 is -10. Hope that helps. Also, the reasoning behind playing teasers in football and not basketball is pretty simple I believe.

1. Pts are more valuable in FB because way less are scored then in basketball.

2. It actually takes time in FB to score pts, while in BB you can have 15-20 pts scored in the last minute or so with fouling.

My local lets me do 3 team teasers getting 9 points and I can do totals with him as well.......I can find alot of value in teasing totals down and I only pay 10% juice, makes up 80% of my plays........

I dont mind a smart correlated teaser. In other words, Colts vs Ravens, I think if the Ravens cover it goes under so tease those two, or Colts and over. I dont see much point in teasing two games that dont have anything to do with each other like two seperate games.

FYI, I can tell you that over the last 4 weeks the 3 team 10-point teasers in the NFL have been hitting like crazy. (Over an 87% clip) That means 7 out of 8 teams you pick win. That is a sick number. It has cost us a FORTUNE. We are paying EVERYONE that plays these teasers. We even raised the vig from 10% to 25% to try to even things out, but is just doesn't matter when they win them all. They are taking all the "good" teams and teasing them down and they are all getting there. The only set of teasers we have been able to bust up were last Monday night when Pitt only won by one. (Ties lose) Other than that NFL teasers are a winning prop.
In addition, most people do not know that there is NO mathematical theoretical win for the house. In every other type of sports betting wager there is an expected theoretical winning percentage for the house. With 10 point teasers there is not. There is no mathematical computation to determine what the loss should be on each wager. Pretty interesting, eh?

Oh, and one more week of this crap and we are done with the 3 team 10 point teasers!!!

I only get 5- from my local on teases
I cant play em totals either..

That said I always play one or two a week in the pros
NEVER tease colleges they never seem to help usually if you are on the right side in college go with the parley..

In the pro, I will tease anything I can to inside a field goal (san diego prime example this last weekend)
or tease it over 17 on the plus side.. Houston this last weekend
Move it over your prime NFL numbers if I can (inside 3, 7, 14 etc)

I use em but hey its all gambling tough enough to hit one two is even harder..

Did I mention my local puts double juice on it too???

most likely an agent for a credit shop as opposed to post up, paid on per head or percentage of action.

as to teasers they suck in basketball and ncaa football and are only occassionally okay in the nfl if you can get a team around a key number.

favorites have been hitting absurdly last couple weeks in nfl through teasers, so yeah, you are gonna lose most of your teaser action.
it will even out eventually.

I suck at them, truthfully. But I can't stay away from playing them. When I do win, I find it much easier in the pros than college. There is more predictability and less points with the grown men.
