Really like Navy here, they always seem to play ND tough and ND seems to let them hang around. The last 4 years ND has won by 18, 7, 3, and 18 LY. I actually thought last year Navy had the best chance to beat ND with Polanco and Eckles.

The real test in this game is going to be Navy DB's against ND's passing attack. Nd is avg 334 yards thru the air, while Navy is only giving up 182 per. Navy is going to need to limit the big plays thru the air if they are going to have a chance at this game.

Navy is #2 in the nation in rushing, which is no surprise, and I look for them to control the clock and keep the ND o off the field. If they can do that and not fall behind big in the first half, they should stay with in the number, and they'll get my hard earned money this week:

Navy +24 3 units.

other leans, Fresno, GT, Iowa St, Wash St, Northwestern, Wisky.

Looking to narrow that list down, but who knows might play them all.

Good Insight

Had ND penciled in but I am going to scratch that one all together. The big money was on ND last week, this seems set up for a Navy cover. I already wrote up a thread on Northwestern for Saturday where I listed several reasons why Northwestern covers. And I also have a slight lean on Wiscy as well.

I lean towards Notre Dame. I don't know much about Navy this year. I know they were good last year and had a lot of seniors. Notre Dame is 11th in BCS and knows they need to stay 12th or better. No doubt they win, but I think they win convincingly. They could probably win by 50 if they wanted to.
I will take ND 1st half and also ND on a 10-pt teaser. I say ND wins something like 49-14.

I am right back on ND after I heard this stat. Navy is only returning 6 starters this year. 7 new starters on defense, good luck with +24, your going to need it!

If Rutger can put a beating on Navy (31-21) two week ago, I think ND a much better team can do worst damage (52-21).

No way Navy stays with ND. what did ND do three weeks ago when BYU stopped their running game??Quinn threw for 460 some yards,6 touchdowns... I think Charlie is smart enough to see that if Navy ties to stop the pass, they will just run it at them all day long.Navy hasn't won a game against ND since John F Kennedy was president, and I dont see them winning, even covering this game while Bush is president either.ND knows they have to win out convincingly to stay in the good graces of the BCS gods. Besides Navy has no starter over 5'11 in the d secondary. I believe thier back up safety is the tallest around 6'3. Samardzija and Stovall are both 6'5 and fasano is 6'4.I believe this will be to much the the navy to handle and they will sink.

NDs defense is excellent against the run and Navy quite simply has nobody who can guard Smardzja, Stovall, Fasano and Shelton... I would lean towards a first half play on this one...

ND will look to get in a lot of freshman in the second half. Look for Qbs E. Sharpley and D. Wolke to get some second half snaps. Plus, look for DJ hord and other freshman to play as well.

Weis will not run up the score on a team. They easily could of beat Pitt, Purdue, and BYU by 50 but Weis took his foot off the pedal in the second half. GL

I may have considered that if this was one of the 1st few games of the season, but this is going to be thier 9th so I don't put a whole lot of stock into that.

Well it looks like I will be the only one on Navy, GL to the ND backers.

Chad,

I thought I lost the hat already, unless you want it to come down to the championship game, assuming I make it there. ;)

OK I have narrowed it down and I am going with these:

Navy +24 3 units
Northwestern +18 2 units
Iowa St +2.5 2 units
Wisky -2.5 1 unit
Wash St +4.5 1 unit
