This might be my largest play all season:

Wisky -2.5 over Iowa VERY VERY BIG

To my this qualifies as a top play all year given the situation. Wisconsin is coming off a big loss to Penn State but still have so much at stake. They play extremely well at home having taken care of Michigan, Purdue, Bowling Green, North Carolina on the road. . . to me this is a team that has shown they can win the tough games despite running into a buzzsaw against Penn State.

Iowa on the other hand hasn't had a big win. . . even the close game against Northwestern wouldn't exaclty count as a big win had they gotten it. They are 4-4 without much left riding on their season.

Wisky needs this win bad after Penn State. I believe they get it done in a big way.

May have others but it doesn't get any bigger for me than the play listed above.

as you know, have the utmost respect for your capping. just wondering if the line scared you at all during the capping process. ranked team laying less than a FG at home to a team that isn't even bowl eligible yet. like you said, lots at stake for wisconsin and theyre a different team on the carpet. just cant make sense of the line. btw- on an unrealted note, whats the word on mcclellan for zona. is he going to be playing after christmas or what? very best of luck this weekend bud.

Gman,

I'm not sure but if you take a look at their lines in previous games, they have clearly been overvalued all year IMO even though they have only gone 3-5 ATS. Only game where one could find value IMO would be the Purdue line which I thought should have been closer to a PK at the time. They definitely should not have been a 3 point favorite at Northwestern even though they should have covered.

Wisconsin is weak against the run which is Iowa's specialty. That being said, I don't believe Iowa will be as successful in the red zone as Wisconsin because the Badgers will have no problem going to the air. Iowa had better stick to the ground but I think they will setting for more field goals than anything.

I've thought about it all week but to me its a solid play. . . and I'd rather go down on this than one where I have a legit doubt about it being a solid play. I expect this line to hit 4 by gametime but we shall see.

Arizona basketball is alive and well. . . the loss of McClellan hurts for the Maui tourney but I believe he will be eligible in December. Cats are extremely deep this year. Lute has already mentioned how quickly he will go to his bench and keep a fresh team on the floor. McClellan is a future star but I still believe he's one year away from breaking through.

I think Wisconsin lost more than a game with the loss last wk , they are banged up ,with a slim chance to win the B -10,all the steam may be gone. The Hawks have won the L3 in this series and still have a shot at a bowl. Wis has given up 500 yards their L5 games, their leader on that side of the ball , Bell is playing hurt. This one won't be easy.

bryanz brings up a good point. .. Iowa has won the last three which may explain a little as to the low line. But Iowa had the better team the last three meetings. . . even last year when Wisky faced them with one loss. This year is quite different.

Alabama under 18 team total BIG

Love this play. . . Bama can win this game but must hold LSU to 14 or less IMO because they won't score more than 17 on the LSU defense. . . will Bama's defense get a couple scores? Its possible but difficult to cap. No matter what, I like this play

Northwestern +21 over Ohio State BIG

Bought a point on this one. . . I just do not believe Ohio State blows out a team by more than 21 that can score on them. Northwestern should put up points. . . will they give up a lot of points? No doubt about it. But I like the chances of a backdoor cover with +21 combined with a capable offense. Minnesota put up 31 on Ohio State. . . Michigan State put up 24 and I think both offenses pale in comparison to NWs'.

Good Luck on your plays. I cant play the Wisconsin game but I hope you win. I don't know if you remember back when I used to post a lot I mentioned the kiss of death. Well, Wisconsin has a double kiss of death on them. I'm sure you know what i'm talking about.

HELL
One forgot to mention that this is Coach Alvarez's last coaching gig at home. Some might view or take this into consideration when capping. The place should be rocking and he might have those kids ready to run through a wall today. Good luck.

So. Cal
i'll chime in.....an az hoops...

jawann mclellan will be back in mid dec (think he misses the first 7 games only)....another bad ncaa rule, suspend a kid because he dropped out of summer school, fell 3 units short of eligibility all because his dad died....nice.

as for marcus williams.....total stud....this guy will get major mins as a fresh and will make a huge impact....fresh of the year! read some writeup on espn the other day about college hoops, it went as follows:

west coast power: out- uw in- ucla

what a joke!

I think too much is being made of the line. . . if this was Michigan against Ohio State and Michigan had a horrible year yet was only a 3 point dog at Ohio State, nobody would think the line was off. . . they would simply back Ohio State! So what's different here? Iowa has had Wisconsin's number in the past including a 30-7 spanking last year but now the line looks rancid?

Line has moved up as predicted. . . a true line for this one has got to be around 4-5 so now we're much closer

Michigan/Indiana under 24 second half above average play

Would be surprised if more than 7 points are scored in the 4th quarter

gjn, thanx for the update ...

Marcus has an incredible hoops body, if our school wouldve been scummy like many, he prob wouldve come with only slight talking ... I worked with him many times in junior high and always knew he would be damn good, then suddenly he sprouted about 6 inches in 2 years and he was on his way ... in his toughest game his sr. year he scored 47 i think and only missed 3 shots ... hes a good student too--youll love him
