What, in your minds, will constitute a "victory" in Iraq?

(Let's just say that you don't agree with Bush in his comment of "Mission Accomplished" many moons ago...I can let that pass for now)

What objectives do we need to achieve there and how long do you support staying there?

I would be interested in what you think.

fair question.

a true victory need not be in quotes.

I think it should be called a victory as soon as

1) We find Saddam Hussein alive, capture him without harming him, and try him for war crimes in his own country by his own people.

2)the legacy Uday and Qusay must be destroyed.

3)Iraqis, sunni's, shi'ites, christian and all, should be able to vote for who they want; not having to prick their fingers and smear their own blood on a ballot.

4) Begin training Iraq's own military and IP's to defend their streets.

5) Have a low casualty rate as far as wars go.

6) Assist in rebuilding infastructure.

7)allow women and children to go to school.

8)allow women to vote

9)finalize a constitution (it took America over TWELVE years to do that)

10)secure oil sites for IRAQI production and use

let me know if you want me to go on.

(Syria should be next, then hollywood, then you hippies)

I thought I might make some comments after a few people posted their thoughts on the subject. Although, they really can't fit a post in edgewise around here with all the clutter you are pasting up today.

I really just wanted to hear what the conservatives thought. Everything does not have to be posturing and an argument, right and wrong, black and white. Things can be discussed sensibly sometimes.

Dude, theres only two or three conservatives in here.

what are you waiting for. kosar? lol

There are a lot more than two or three conservatives in here. It's just that they scatter when you two clowns come in here and embarrass yourselves.

What am I waiting for, what?

Say what you will, but Spibble's answer is pretty damn good. I, for one, would consider that victory. Would I have like it to turn out differently - of course. But he makes some very good points.

in addition to squibles--would like to see Iraq start to take bigger role as they recently said they would where we can gradually draw down troops and have less on patrols where most casualaties come from IED's. Would like to see 12-15 elections stay on par with previous voter turn outs.Once we reduce troops the rest will be up to the Iraq's.Hopefully the feeling of freedom will be contagious as we have seen recently in Lebanon and Egypt and the Muslim world will come to realize these militants are against Muslims as well as the West or anyone else that does not share their agenda. Seeing all the protest against the terrorist instead of the West in Jordon recently was a nice 1st step.

Personally there have been enough changes already to claim invasion a success against terrorism---Indirectly at forcing hand of terrorist it has allienated many muslim countries against them--and the Yemens-Lybia's ect realized we are no longer in the Somolia mode and have come on board without a shot fired.

Embarrass ourselves? :mj07: More like the other way around!!!!!

Holy Crap you liberals got destroyed in these debates!!! Nobody could counter our facts. Nobody could explain the hypocritical quotes we posted of Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards, Ted Kennedy, Sandy Berger, Nancy Pelosi, Jay Rockefeller, etc, etc, etc.

You got schooled. Deny it all you want. The fact is that you cannot debate us based on fact or substance. Look at what your response was to this thread Kosar.........

A PERSONAL ATTACK - OFF TOPIC

Had nothing to do with the thread topic. Telling us we are embarrassed??? :mj07: For what??? For debating with FACTS???? With quotes from all your heros??? LMAO

yeah, I'm so embarrassed...and I dont see any conservatives scattering....live in a fantasy world all you want...you guys got SCHOOLED.
