Thanksgiving, already . . . Like The Goldsheet put it, "there is likely no sport defined by its rivalries better than college football, where many of the oldest go back more than a century." . . . Many here have invested lots of time and effort to date in the 2005 college football season, and very few opportunities are left to put that body of knowledge and feel to use before wiping 90% of the slate clean for the start of the next season . . . Some of that 10% or so of residual stuff from prior years suggests not getting carried away in late November when some head scratching scores can be as common as sand on the beach . . . Let's see where the road takes me . . .

Penn State(-7) over Michigan State (1*)

- - No way I'm making it my call that Penn State comes up short in this one, and no way I'm passing on it over concerns about the ways the Spartans are on the verge of 60 minutes of what it will take to break the other guys' wills.
Land-Grant Trophy
"all that was for nothing" . . . "I don't know."

Fresno State(+23')(-105) over USC (1*)
- - I see a live dog in this one.

USC needed an opponent
Bruise days

Army(-7) over Arkansas State (1*)
- - By my reckoning, this is first time Army has been installed as a home favorite since 2001. I think HC Boby Ross has this team responding well enough to do what needs doing in this game that IMO holds a lot more significance for their program.
