Speaking of futures that involve these 2 teams, I like Reggie NOT to win the Heisman at +500. His stock will never be higher than after that performance - hence the -800 for him to win it. VY will get a chance to shine against a horrible A&M team. And, even though Reggie is more than deserving and will probably win, having Leinart splitting votes might allow Young to sneak in and steal it. At +500 it's worth a small wager.

i again have no opinion on the game as i haven't seen enough of texas play this year, and have a good feeling i'll be passing on rose bowl day.

but why would you grab the 6 now. line certainly won't be going below that at any square shop before the game. you will be able to find 7.5 closer to gameday. and if not, you can buy the 1/2 point or point if you are so inclined.

i just would never lock in a 6 for texas right now.

I guess I should have clarified. As a result of the 5,231 posts I have read by our resident USC expert over the past couple of months, I have been swayed to believe that on the 7th day, God created the Trojans and they are indeed invincible. I am now certain that monkeys will fly from my ass before we will ever see the men from Troy and their mighty defense beaten by mere mortals.

Texas is fast strong home grown boys....USC's reggie Bush will be contained....However, USC will take advantage of exposing Texas's secondary....They haven't really been challenged either....But here's why Texas wins....and yes its because of their QB he will run the day lights out of USC....their beat up front line will not be able to contain him and point for point USC won't be able to contest.....This one is going to be close....I really like the Tex ML.....People saw the other day what USC is capable of and this team totally consists of Reggie Bush and man is that guy UNREAL... the only prob though is Texas has speed and won't allow those huge 25 yard chunks and 3 or four touchdowns out of him....Expect Leinhart to get sacked around 4 to 5 times!

you might like penn st. more, you might even think they are better usc, and i won't debate any of that with you. im sure scott will chime in. and i HATE USC, but for you to say penn st. deserves to play for the title over USC is stupid.

I dont care which side you like - betting the game now is stupid. If you like Texas you are screwing yourself out of at least a point, and that assumes everyone stays healthy. I guess if you like USC you might be getting some value, but why do it now?

I generally think it is crazy to bet against USC with rest especially laying a small number. However, I would also say that at least to me that number is rancid - almost begging for USC money. Shit, it is a damn home game too which is generally 3-4 points alone. I have no doubt it will be 75%+ on USC.

penn state might not even be the best team in the big 10 on a neutral field, let alone the best team in the country. give the nitts their due credit, but theyre right where they should be -- a bcs bowl and top 5 or 6 in the nation. but nowhere near texas or usc.

actually disagree betting early isnt wise IF you like usc ... the line could go to 7 etc--was at 10.5 once ... FWIW, i am pretty shaky betting games week to week, and make a small profit each year betting futures and games months ahead--works well for me anyhow.... i think when its said and done usc wins this game, not sure by a # ... I have USC +190 for the rose bowl ... if the line goes to 7.5 I might middle tho ... or even ML texas and forget about the game ... that saved my ass one year, had Canes 11/2 and took OH st 5/1 and sat back and watched some strange things happen w/o sweating ... of course no payday like those odds this year ...
