get the specs (size, shape, color, etc) and put it on ebay for a two week bid. Advertise it by mentioning it here and sell it to the highest bidder.

Easy, very little work, and you sell in before c-mas.

keep it Clem, if the rock is a good rock, take it out and make a pendant necklace keepsake for your daughter ( I think I remember you saying you had one). You will never get what it is worth on e-bay. They had a segment on 20/20 about buying jewlery on e-bay and it painted a very ngative light on stone and setting purchases, because supposedly only 5% of it is actually worth what they say it is.

I got rid of my old engagement ring quite easily. I don't know if it will work for you but heres how you do it.

Go ahead and make a suggestion that you would like to have a threesome with her and her best friend. She will most likely react in a negative manner and ask you if you like her best friend or something...........your answer should be ......No..........but I did enjoy banging her last tuesday. The key to this though is to tell her all this while she is in the shower and doesn't have the ring one as they tend to tear the flesh. Once she is gone..............(should be about 38 minutes) put the ring up for sale at a jeweler on consignment or find another ole bag that didn't know your other ole bag and act like its a whole new ring when you give it to her. Trust me they don't care.................they're like puppies at that point......show them something shiny and glimmering and thats all they pay attention to.

Hope this helps.

Did you have it appraised?

Report you backpack stolen from a friends house off the back of your motorcycle. Get the insurance from your Homeowners policy. It wont count against you on future policies and it will pay the APPRAISAL amount - the deductible!

(actually happened to my wedding band that was in my organizer in my backpack on my motorcycle)(man I miss that backpack)

Jewelry question

Jewelry question

Finally a field I am expert in......had a retail new and used jewelry and antique coin store for 17 years.....retired in 1997. The mark-up on jewelry is a standard 300+ percent. Diamonds are the biggest con perpetrated....women are brainwashed on them their entire life. Folks, diamonds are not rare. The myth keeps prices jacked.
My advice Clem is keep the stone, they are near impossible to resell unless they are 1 carat +. 1 carat is marketable to a degree....how big is the stone in question?
