You MAC experts please help me.I love the Zips here.There playing at home.If they win I think they get into the MAC championship game vs NIU.Even despite there record.And how in the world am I taking a team that Army shutout 20-0.
Because Kent is so bad.They are 1-9 or 1-10.Have injuries everywhere. Off line is hurting.RB's are injured.They have no rushing attack what so ever.A total of 400 yds for the season.Thats 40 yds per game.They had -37 vs Buffalo and lost 10-6.
Zips do have a good rush defense.
But with the weather near freezing,possible snow and winds Kent cannot throw the ball.If Zip defense is better then Buffalo's and Kent had -37 yds we might see -50.
Think Zips are focused,playing at home,playing for a title game vs one of the worst teams in D-1.
Please give Ohio weather update...MAC boys..give me more info.Tell me I'm wrong here...

they may lay off the starters to make prepartions for the big game..correct me if i'm wrong!

MAC EAST DIVISION: Either Bowling Green or Akron will represent the East Division in the MAC Championship game Dec. 1. If Bowling Green beats Toledo Tuesday night, the Falcons will win the division. However, if Miami beats Ohio, BG suffers a loss to Toledo, and Akron defeats Kent State Thursday, to follow is the scenario for the three-way tie.

In a three-way tie (Akron, BGSU, Miami at 5-3): -- A WMU victory over NIU gives BGSU the East title by virtue of winning percentage of West Division crossover opponents: 16-8 (WMU 6-2, Toledo 6-2, Ball State 4-4). Akron would be 14-10 (NIU 5-3, CMU 5-3, Ball State 4-4) and Miami would be 13-11 (NIU 5-3, CMU 5-3, EMU 3-5).

-- A NIU victory over WMU gives Akron the East title by virtue of winning percentage of West Division crossover opponents and head-to-head victory over BGSU: 15-9 (NIU 6-2, CMU 5-3, Ball State 4-4. BGSU would also be 15-9 (Toledo 6-2, WMU 5-3, Ball State 4-4) and Miami would be 14-10 (NIU 6-2, CMU 5-3, EMU 3-5). However, Miami would fall out of the equation, reverting back to head-to head between Akron and BGSU. Akron wins the tiebreaker with victory over BGSU.

Akron DOES need to win to advance to the Final...FYI. I am 30 minutes north of Akron--and looking out the window it's snowy and windy as a mutha... Kent is awful---but in a rivalry like this with the weather as it is, I'm taking the points and the under.. Just my 2 cents! Good luck!

agreed. it's tough to take kent, but the road team has covered the last 7 in this matchup. plus, akron is only 1-4 ATS as a fav this year. last year, akron won 24-19, but kent outplayed them. and that was when charlie frye was the qb for akron.

The Rubber Bowl is not a great home field advantage for Akron since Kent is only right down the road on I-76, but I doubt either team will bring many fans since it's both a holiday and absolutely miserable outside. Outside of possibly Temple, Kent may have the worst run defense in the country but on the other hand the Zips have struggled to run the ball all year.

ok, so i come down, get my morning cup of joe, and look over a little madjack's...pretty routine stuff for me, even on a holiday.

i go up, get a shower, shave..i'm lookin real good. i come out of the bathroom, and am in my closet, figurin' out if i'm gonna wear my #1 or #2 shirt today (again, it is a holiday). my girl's still layin in bed, and after about a minute or so, she say's to me..."why the h*ll do you keep whistlin zip a dee do dah?!!"
