How many have Indy on the backend of a tease?

Just wondering how many of you have Indy on the backend of a tease. I have a good chunk of change on them at -1.5 as I teased them with three separate games on Sunday.

I was thinking about the possibility of a hedge but the line is "down" to 8 (-105). If the line was going the other way and somehow got up to 10, I would think about it but think I'm going to let these teases ride.

If you are going to hedge, I think the moneyline is a better play. Suppose you have $100 riding on your teasers. If you play the Steelers ML (+280), you only need to risk $40 to lock in a profit. If Indy covers you net $60 and if the Steelers win you win $12.

Trying to middle the game requires more investment. Taking Pittsburgh +8 at $105/$100 gives you a profit of $200 if Indy wins by a TD or less. An Indy blowout gives you a loss of $5 and an Indy loss gives you a push.

The only reason to hedge your original bet is if you think the second bet has value as a stand alone bet or if the amount of money you have wagered makes you uncomfortable and you need to lay some of it off.

FWIW, I have Indy in two rather large teasers and am letting it ride unless the line gets pushed up to 10 (unlikely). At that point Pittsburgh +10 would be a good bet by itself.

I have INDY+1 for the game. I am taking Pitt on the ML, for the hedge. If the line jumps over 10, I may just take the points.

That is why I don't agree with hedging. If the second wager is not +EV by itself, why would you bet it?

Great spot for a middle but i just think indy pulls away in the second half to win by 10-14 points.

Having 2 or 3 teasers riding on one team basically means you have one large wager riding on a more probable outcome.

If you place a dozen wagers over the weekend, thats far from having all your apples in one basket

Kinda harsh, isn't it?? I don't consider myself an asshole, but my wife has on many occasions :mj07: Certainly not wise to have them in more than one, as I did when I had Pitt in week#8 against Baltimore and got BURNED! But all my wagers are for one unit, so having them in two (@+4- tonight) is just a two unit wager with extra points added. Hope you win your wager tonight so you can lighten up a bit. GL :mj14:
