I agree soul, and unfortunatly I am starting to question my own knowledge for football. I thought that this was a good matchup for the Steelers at least on offense. The Colts are a fast defense, but not a big one. I figured they would be able to mix up the run and pass and have success. I was wrong. I dont know if to blame the talent (or lack thereof) or the playcalling......both looked pathetic.

The only good thing that can come from this for me, is that I no longer fear these bums taking a playoff spot from my CHIEFS!

He is a solid coach...

All of a sudden he sucks because he lost to the
best team in football on the road.

Give the guy a break

Big Ben obviously wasn't in sync either which made Cowher look a lot stupider .... see them bouncing back big vs. Cincy next week though.

i disagree soul, hes slightly above average in my opinion,to lose all of those afc championship games as a fave and at home is pretty disturbing.great motivater gets team ready to play but so does shottenheimer and herm edwards, the only way these coaches win in the playoffs is if they face each other.

Among Libtards!!
I like cowher and think for the most part he is a good coach and motivator.....but tonight he seemed to really make poor decisions after the missed FG that would've tied the game.....don't know what it was, but maybe he was too emotionally involved in the game.....a good coach can't let that happen.....when emotion drives a decision, a lot of times it isn't the right decision......hell, just ask any married man about an emotional woman and her decision making abilities!! :scared

They could not beat the colts if they played 10 straight weeks in Indy.Colts would whack them every time.I dont care who was coaching this team tonight. They were going down regardless.

Cowher is a good coach. If the guy makes the field goal, its a tie game. End of 1st half was huge. Facemask should have put the ball into Colts territory, right around midfield. They marked it from the sack. Thats not right. Then the personal foul on the return puts Indy in FG range.
4th and 4...QB draw was not that bad of a call. Colts expecting pass all the way. Front 4 rushing like crazy. If they get the 1st down, Cowher looks like a genius. I don't mind that call at all.
I really hated the onside kick. Defense was playing really well.
But..I also hate the fact that the ball didn't go 10 yards. They might have gotten it. A couple steelers were there, waiting, and the damn ball goes 7 yards.

NFL time rules are pure crap, as I've mentioned before. Indy has a 7-minute drive and moves the ball 30 yards. Well, they had 2 or 3 penalties....restart the clock. Thats 2 or 3 minutes....half the drive. They go out of bounds. Theres another minute. I feel like theres 20 plays per quarter and 50 commercials per quarter. Steelers couldn't get the ball b/c Indy wasted time with penalties, then picked up 1st downs.

End of half and onside kick killed them.

my 2 cents on cowher, hes an interesting study, initially he looked like a wunderkind, then hit bad stretch in afc championships, then they went in crapper and I was sure he would be fired; then he made renaissance ... im not sure he will ever bring them all the way back (another SB slot), but hes a borderline HOFer in amount of wins he will compile ... there are lots worse, and NFL owners hire morons like Tice, retreads like Erickson, and lateral hires like oakland's mediocrity

and porno stars like Wanny :scared

Last year before a crucial game for pitt, someone at this forum who could not support pitt and after a good write-up as to why not support pitt added, "and Cowher is, well Cowher." I remember laughing my ass off at that...but I remembered it...and last night, "Cowher was Cowher."

id say besides cowhers stupid onside kik decision...the offensive line of pitt. was dominated...indy was much to fast and seemed stronger on top of that., pitt. seemed to be a step and a half slower on offense than indys defense.....steelers defense played well enough to win or atleast cover the game.....but for some to say they had no chance, i think theyre wrong. 2-games come to mind quickly....how about denver over dallas on turkey day...dallas dominted denver on both sides of the ball all game but they dint dominate the all important scoreboard..only to let denver hang around and win at end.as dallas missed chip shot fg to give den the opportunity...or how about dallas again blowing game vs. wash early in year....up 13-0 and dominating all game only to lose when wash scored on 2 long pass plays late in 4th qtr....my point is that cowhers onside kick decision was a major contributing factor to the loss/no cover.im not exactly sure of the % of onside kicks that are successful , but id have to guess its in 10-20% range....knowing you have an 80% chance of giving indy the ball on your 40 or worse to start the 2nd half of a game your down 9 was absolute stupidity on cowhers part.....i think most would agree that pitt. defense had manning frustrated throughout 2nd qtr and
i wouldve like to see if indy couldve put togother a long drive on them in 2nd half....cowher shouldve let his defense try and hold them to start 2nd half and hope to keep the game close, because we all know what that anything can happen at that point...

im not saying that indy wasnt the better team...that was pretty obvious....just think pitt. had a definite chance going into the 2nd half to win/steal this game if a few breaks went there way....
