Hofstra Pride plus over Johnnies. ***
Hof has beaten Johnnies the past 2 yrs 78-68 and 2 yrs @Johnnies 81-62 in the famos house that Looie Built.
Hofstra are the second class citizens in the metro area.Johnnies get all the ink and the pride kick ass and get very little.
Hof gds are outstanding.Stokes is all conf and Auguido is a blue chip kid.Johnnies are improved and Roberts has them playing better defense.Hill is outstanding.But I think Hofstra plays with more of an intensity.Most of these players all know each other.Pride players practice all summer in Alumni Hall.Close game.But second class citzens win again.

Wisky plus over Wake **
Tucker,defense,better coached.

Michigan minus over Miami **
Purdue plus over Florida St **
Big 10 sweep.

Colorado plus over Penn *

Just read a great article in the Post on this game..
Johnnies sound and are saying all the right things
and they DID JUST BEAT NIAGRA...
but as always I will defer to your knowledge (as long as you dont say Cal St Northridge again!!!!!)

Box, Don't usually write too much but this is the most important game of the year for the Pride. They use this as their biggest recruiting tool against the Johnies...they still lose players to St. John's because the CAA is considered a mid major conference.

Pecora is a guy from queens that would only leave Hofstra for one job...St. John's. (of course if north carolina came knocking I'm sure he would answer...but I don't see that happening ) I'm sure the coaches are still bitter because they had Showtime (darryl hill) locked up to be the next speedy claxton and then st. john's swooped in at the last minute to block them. St. John's wasn't even after darryl hard until they found out that he was going to sign with Hofstra. The coaches want this game.

Hofstra guards will dominate this game. Showtime is great but he needs more help. Hofstra will be able to throw multiple capable defenders at him.

Inside is still the question mark for Hofstra, but the guards are good rebounders and Stokes is an NBA player.

Glad to see you're on them too.

Hokie..lol Freak'in Cal Northridge.Take them next time.No matter who they play...I think everyone is on the Johnnies tonite.Think the Pride could win outright.

Coolgi24....Pecora I know very well.I had a kid play for him when he was a juco coach in Long Island.My kid lasted 2 weeks and transferred.It was Farmingdale, or Nassae.Then he recruited another one of my kids when he was an asst at UNLV.A funny guy.Not the greatest bench coach though.Great recruiter.And you are right about this game and the recruiting.
I think the 3 gd attack tonite gives the Johnnies problems.But Pride has been cold in there last few games.Agudio is one of my favorite players in NY state.Riveria is another kid I love.Harris and Uter are there only front court paint players.That is where there weakness lies.Teams that have a real solid post player will give them problems.Johnnies don't have that kind of player.
