Does anyone know why it is that when I click on something, like going to another forum or clicking on someone's thread, that the cursor sits there showing a hand. It takes me forever to go from place to place. Not just on this site either as my daughter has been complaining about the same thing. Thanks

INtheBLUE I'm a computer dummy. Where would I find that ? Lately I have a grey box that pops saying my memory is low and that windows will increase ??? Something to that effect. Thanks

Another Steve Through my phone company but I can be on the phone while on the internet...? I remember a friend of mine mentioning that to someone before. If you don't mind Steve, how is that done. I called my cable company and they told me to clear my cookies and delete files which I did. It didn't make any differnce as it took me 37 seconds to respond to this thread after clicking on it.

INtheBLUE and Another Steve thanks very much, really appreciate your time.

restart your computer in safe mode...
while restarting hold down F8 key and then another screen will come up and make sure to hit safe mode and hit enter, you should then be able to defrag when it finishes restarting...

To find your RAM, HOLD down your Windows Start menu button on your keyboard and press the Pause/Break key. A window will pop up and tell you your hardware processor and ram info.

Post back what you have.

My guess is you have an AMD processor, running XP with only 256 MB of 2700 DDR SDram at 333mHz. Let me know if I am right. (If I am, I get a cookie)

Another Steve, glad I could show you a shortcut, and yes it is time to fork out $300 bucks for a new one. You will never run another operating system on that computer. If you have an old printer and upgrade computers you might have to get a new printer too. I know old lexmarks dont have drivers for XP but I am not sure about other brands.
