one of those nights last night as improbables turn my plays into duds. ecu sticks it in my face and shoots over 50% on the road for the first time in several years. wolfpack stays close the entire game with the ugliest style of hoops i've seen in awhile, but somehow fails to cover the first half by a half point. davidson takes it to the 49ers the entire game but falls by four in double ot pushing my bad early bet at +4, and failing to cover at the half by a point. pegged the fullerton fatigue angle, but k state plays everyone but the waterboy and still manages to push the total over.

don't rally see much that jumps out to me in the early going today. richmond under is appealing, but @ 114 it's hard to see much value. iona will probably be a popular side today, but with fordham scuffling and iona off the big win at iowa state the line is probably skewed at least a couple of points in fordham's favor. dayton will draw some action but i'm not a fan of playing a team the next game off a big win, and the flyers may let down a little after their win @ cincy. tenn tech should handle austin peay in cookeville, but very little ev @ -12.

will continue to wait and see today but may end up passing until saturday's big slate.

g/l with tonight's card.

i'm commited to making at least one play tonight:

austin peay + ???: as it appears i am the only bettor in the western hemisphere willing to make this play, i'll wait until closer to tipoff to place my wager in hopes of getting a better number than the current +12. however, one of the reasons i came full circle to land on the govs is that, even though tenn tech has drawn over 90% of the action throughout the day, the line has held fairly steady. that's usually a sign that something is up. beyond that, there's just a lot of intangibles lurking in this game that seem to refute a tech blowout. of course, the govs are the team that upset tech in the ovc tourney last year, costing them the championship and the ncaa tourney spot that they had been favored to claim, so on the surface lays screaming a huge revenge angle for the golden eagles. additionally, peay got off to a rocky start, dropping their first three holiday tourney road games. aftewards, the senior captains called a players only team meeting that seemed to turn things around somewhat. 12 points is a lot of points to lay in an ovc conference game, especially in the conference opener, and especially between these two geographic rivals. just call me the ornery contrarian but i'll be fading the world and playing the dog.

adding:

pepperdine +14-: line move finally sucked me in. like i mentioned earlier, classic letdown spot for the flyers after the big win at cincy.

also made smaller plays on tenn martin +1 and denver under 126.

i saw that ie. also, read elsewhere from a poster who is very knowledgeable about the sunbelt that tenn martin coach was very unhappy with the officiating when martin was shellacked in jonesboro last year, so much so that when he shook hands with ark st coach after the game, he said he'd see him next year in martin with his officials. maybe that has something to do with why coach nutt sounds a little pessimistic about tonight's game.
