So Cal
Agree with most on Luxor - no compelling reason to stay there.

NYNY - everybody has it right - it sucks

MGM - Nice, too big

TI - not thrilling but its location is great. A good spot because of getting to Mirage and Venetian.

Venetian - very nice

Green Valley - if you want to go to a place that you will never leave, GVR is great. Rooms are sharp; never too crowded; no problem with comps; wide variety of food choices at all prices inside; upscale little outdoor mall and more great restaurants across the street. None of the strip crowd and traffic to deal with.

as many have said it depends on what your trip is....wife, vacation, gambling only, looking at hot chicks, sports book, etc....

luxor-only place worse is the freaking excalibur

aladdin-okay

new york new york-tons of tourists, hate gambling there

mgm grand-tons of tourists and way too big

treasure island-fun, hot chicks at the clubs there...tangerine, great pool small sports book but usually empty, bad odds on the craps tables (3x odds max....25 tables)

i usually stay at ti, rio and ocassionally mandalay but then again im there for nightlife, gambling and pool action during the day for a 2 day binger from so cal.....but the gf likes all three casinos as well.....plus my sportsbook action is either at orleans, boulder station since i have friends that live out there and it off strip (makes a huge diff on football weekends, breeders cup or derby weekend)

have fun and good luck

of the ones you mention, if a good sportsbook is important to you, unless it's been updated, luxor's is tiny and old. they still write the lines/odds on a whiteboard, and seating is usually limited and uncomfortable with small tv's. most others i've been to, are more like lounges with large tv's.

as far as overall experience, mgm is too big for me, ny ny is too busy inside, gives me a headache, can't speak for aladdin.

been through TI, seems nice, and as mentioned above, the proximity to other casinos is convenient, right next to mirage (my favorite sportsbook) and across from venetian.

enjoy your trip.

Aladdin is your best choice, it is top of the line and even better since plant Hollywood bought it, they have some of the best places to eat in town and have top name bands playing almost every week , they are getting bigger names then hard rock and house of blues + it is even easier to get comped their then was before which was not hard and once you get comped their you are comped for life and with very little play you go in and pay 4 straight hours first night you will be comped your whole stay at 25 bucks a play and if you play next day for 2 hours you will get all food comped first thing you do is get a casino host and say your staying here and need to be rated, then 2nd day ask for comp say you like the place and are going to stay there most of the time and you will be comped all you have to do is ask, they are always at 98% occ rate and 1/4 of those are comps.

and who ever said they had to walk through the mall to get to casino you parked on wrong floor and also parked in dessert passage parking garage. and have valet park you for 2 bucks a day anyway if your a guest, but if you park on level 5 right by elevator it has a button that says casino and opens up right on first floor by check in, if you happen to park in dessert passage, if you would read signs first entrance say dessert parking then 20 feet down say hotel guest parking but every one goes in first entrance and if you do like i said level 5 has elevator that will drop you off on 3rd floor and you walk across a cat walk and take elevator write to front desk , but it is confusing if you don't look quick but all that is being changed and has been for last 8 months will all be done 1n 2006 before nov. your will not get comped at the others you named as easy as Aladdin not even close to it, and then if you every one to come back you call and they will give you room and it will be comped trust me i know the Aladdin better then anyone on here and how they work, even though jerri is now at green valley ranch which i like much better and they own the district a upscale plaza across parking lot really not across street it is a 4 lane drive way and gvr is one of the top 4 resorts in clark county will see many stars their and service is out of sight and have a new poker room going for locals with money like Ballagio they have a few no limit games every day just started about 2 months ago and it is packed with the big boys you see at Bellagio they rotate back and forth to clean out of town people who want to play in the 2 big games in town.

The Aladdin your 99% sure of getting comped for life if you do what i said and then walk to other places you want to go to or take a cab if you don't want to walk.

Kosar, I have to deal with the same chit. We saw Carrot-top about 2-3 years ago, and I cried laughing. The creativity that he has with all of his props is hilarious. I loved it, and he should have never done the commercials.....they made people think he was an idiot......he is funny as hell

Another vote for Carrot Top, this guy is sooooooo funny. I have never laughed so hard in my life. It's amazing if you have followed his career at all on how buff he has gotten.

I can remeber when he first started he was as skinny as Gallagher, but just saw him on Regis a couple of weeks ago and he has a pair of guns like an NFL player.

I heard that all his material is his own, that's amazing with all the different things he comes up with.

I'm with Big Tease and Kosar, guy is worth the price of admisssion.

Saw an article on Carrot the other day and the guy has guns. Very funny guy - I think many people are afraid to admit that he is a funny guy.

During the closing finale of his show, theres a part where he comes out flexing without his shirt on to some song and I swear I thought it was some type of air-suit of a bodybuilder he was wearing. The guy next to me thought it was one of those gag t-shirts with a ripped upperbody airbrushed on it. No joke, dude is stacked. Oh and still funny as shit.
