interesting situatin setting up here. this game originally scheduled for saturday because of n az exam schedule, was moved to tonight at az"s request. as a result, lumberjacks are attending class this morning and will make the four hour bus trip to tuscon this afternoon. when they get there, they will stretch and otherwise prepare in two large rv's owned by boosters, with no time for any practice on the wildcat's court. meanwhile, after the 'cat's shocking loss at houston, olson has scrapped the new motion offense az had put in this year and returned to the old 2 in/3 out offense that they have used with great success for years. 'zona is eager to gain some momentum before heading into their own exam break, so what was once maybe a look-past game now has become cirlcled with a bullet. expect very little letup should the 'cats get out in front the line opened at 25 and has dropped through the day to now stand at -23-. n az last played in tuscon two years ago, and lost by 34.

ps - n az plays a frosh at pg who has turned the ball over 25 times in seven games.

After the fact it looks like Lute threw the game against Hou to prove a point to his team and benched two starters. I thought I was crazy but 4 to's for a young PG, not all that bad.

I have to take back what I said about the 2 that were benched, they did not start but they played. Just looked at the box score and Adams got his 29mins and 21 pts. Rodgers played 10 min less than normal but was 1 for 7 and Lute probably sat him because he was cold.

- actually, i mistyped and the wilson kid has 28 to's not 25. maybe i'm being a little harsh on him but 28 to's seems like a lot to me for your point guard.

- date change was made in the offseason to better accomodate az's exam schedule. n az has little clout in scheduling details with az.

- lute doesn't throw games and he didnt bench his two starting guards (they were late for a team meeting) he just didn't start them).

- whole point here is maybe cats have motivation to cover this big line. most all who have read my posts over the years know i don't lay heavy chalk very often. i haven't played this game and wouldn't consider doing so unless the line drops at least a couple more points. most significant things i see are that n az is a public dog thus far today and not sure that they should be and also, look for az's offense to get clicking again with the shift back to an offensive set that promotes more inside scoring, especially against a weaker opponent.
