John Lennons 25th Anniversary in Heaven.

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

Shot five times. FIVE times....and not one to spare for Yoko? C'mon four could have done the job and you could have rid the world of the woman who broke up the Beatles. :cursin:

Hard to believe that it happened that long ago, yet much of his music still lives today! The fab four had already disbanded before my time but of all the Beatles, John and George were the only two that I ever got into their music. As I recall, the first Lennon song that I heard was a 45 that had Happy XMAS (War is over) on one side and a off song called Beef Jerky on the other side. Imagine if guys like Lennon and Hendrix had lived and were able to make music using modern day technology, it would be absolutely amazing what they would be able to do. The only thing that really bothered me about John was how he treated his son Julian as he seemed to make this kid a outsider, but I would think that much of this had to do with Yoko. I even believe after John died, Yoko tried to keep Julian from getting any funds or memorabilia which is quite sickening and shows you just what kind of bitch she is.

Was not Hendrix something,MC. Don't think there has ever been his equal on guitar--All along the watchtower-- my fave.

On Lennon --Can't believe he had any possessions when he died per his song--maybe I'm dreaming:)

DTB,

Even though Hendrix was before my time, his music today in my opinion still sounds like it was just recorded. Could you imagine what this guy would be doing today if he had the technolgy that exists in our present times? While you can argue that Vai, Page, Beck, Hetfield, Rhoads, are possibly the greastest guitar players in rock history, but in my opinion the two best were Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Eddie Van Halen, and nobody is a close second. I wound never have said that if I didn't see him play live one time.

As far as John Lennon goes, man it is strange to think that was 25 friggin years ago. I never believed it when people warned me how old we get so fast, but this sure puts it inperspective.

Clem, was going to come in the Gen forum and just mentioned about Lennon's 25th.But knew someone like you would of already done it.Thanks.
Hard to believe 25 yrs. It's one of those moments we all remember where we where.Watching Monday night football and Howard Cosell announces Lennon was shot.My wife was in the laundry room right next to the den where I was watching TV.I called her over and she just started to cry.My wife was one of those crazy groupies that loved the Beatles. Her favorite was Paul of course. She still has the Beatles albums and many 45's.
I had a basketball game that nite.Don't remember who it was against or if I won or lost. But I remember where I was when I got the news.
Thanks for posting,Clem...

McCartney wrote all of the Beatles stuff
Lennon would walk in and change a word or two and VIOLA LENNON and McCartney..
Lennon's true genius was on his solo stuff
Working Class Hero is one of my personal favs and I think one of the best lyrical odes to the disillutionment of his generation..
His Best stuff (Lennon) was still rattling around in his head when that A hole shot him
If there isnt a better arguement for capital punishment I cant find one (except maybe that crip dude that claims he's the reincarnation of Dr Suess)
I really would love to hear what Lennon would of done, thats the real shame...
