In one word, Awesome.
In two words, Awesomely expensive.
Thurs - Flight delays but no one got shot. Got in just before dark, checked in, then met my wifes coworkers at the hotel club. Loud ass music and an open bar till close.
Friday - Autumn and I walked the grounds. They have one of the greatest aquariums in the world. Ate Lunch then headed down to downtown Nassau. One walk-thru let me know, no shopping at the Atlantis. Autumn bought 1 tropical dress/wrap at every store we stopped at. A bit off the beaten path we found a Bahemian Bar and sat down for regular price drinks. Autumn told me she liked the Goomba Smash the best, but I thought the Bahama Mama tasted a little better. Sentimental Site Reasons. I stuck to Bud heavies. "Yah Mon" That evening, went to the Poop Deck with Autumns Company. Open Bar less the loud ass music. Then went off to a local club with loud ass music, no open bar. till close night 2.
Saturday - Hung
Hop a boat, with a group of 40-50 off to a little island to snorkel. Reefs and water were real nice but the wind kept the beach a little chilly. Hair of the dog $7 beer cured the headache plus a little lunch and then we checked out the wind blocked section of the island. One nap and a semi-sunburn had me feeling like a gazillion bucks. Back to the hotel, see UT won by 60, USC up by 60, and my only wager on Va Tech bobbing in the crapper. Down to the Casino where seats are very tough to come by. My lovely wife starts feeding slot machine like she had a 50 lb bag of bird seed and a hatchling. I sat down at a $10 Carribean Stud table with a hundo and sat for 4 hours. Sat with a group of canuck hosers and had a very laid back good time. I'm not a casino virgin but not very experienced at the tables. So I sit to the right of the dealer in last position - recommended to any newbie. Played pretty smart and over the 4 hours only lost 3 bets. Got paid off on a set and 2 2 pair for my money makers/ Unlucky the dealer didnt qualify when I drew trip aces and a straight. Finished the night with 275 up 175 less 80 that Autumn fed to the machines.
She did have the best move of the night. The comped drinks came in 4.5 ounce glasses once a century and so when Autumn came by I asked her to grab me a beer from the bar. She says, "Drinks aren't free" and put out her hand. I give her a $20 and continue to play. Muck my hand and the fog clears. They only take room keys and credit cards at the bar. She gets back in record time - compared to the comped drinks and I say, "Do you have any change"
Well you see I thought it was 10 cents but it was 10 dollars and after 1 pull - don't give me anymore money - would it be alright if i just watched you.
That's why I love her
We wrap up - get up sunday and head to the airport 4 hours early
Make sure you pre-lube for security
Well not that bad but 4 different bag searches is a bit redundant. Except on the 3rd check they did confiscate 4 lighters from our checked in bags.
Enough time for one more goomba and a bud and then on to the flight delays. No more American Airlines for me. Step out in Dallas to blow a heater and its 40 flippin degrees. I have a Tech Baseball Jersey on with shorts and flip-flops. Give up smoking for the night and got in to Austin shy of eleven. Ready for the weekend so I can sleep.
We had a great time and would guess that the gambling is the cheapest thing offered at the Atlantis. $10-500 tables - no hold'em tables/tournies although they are hosting a WSOP (I believe) I think Jack almost qualified for it. The Sportsbook was never crowded and for some reason the beer always tasted better there.
A little out of my league price wise unless a fortunate mal-practice suit is in my future. Then I'll go every year. Definately recommend everyone go once.
