anyone have any thoughts on what the line will be? I'm guessing they won't post it until they have a good idea of whether or not Dungy will rest some starters. Personally, I don't think he will rest anyone at all so I'm expecting Indy to be favored by 5 or 5.5. Must-win game for SD next Sunday because they got caught looking ahead against the Dolphins today. SD will probably be a biggie for me...

i think there is absolutely zero chance that the line will be under a TD. then again, some of these lines have been so soft on the chalks this year its not funny. so who knows. but gotta think it opens in the ballpark of 9.5, might even be 10 or 10.5

as some point, the books are going to have to take a stand on indy lines. colts pushed today and might have lost by a 1/2 point, but it was not a "true" cover by jacksonville. just read this board and every other board and you'll see that the # could be indy -13 and people would still hammer the colts. but i think 10 is a fair number

Sweet sassy molassy gman, I hope you're right. I was only thinking the line would be adjusted heavily because SD is in a must win and the Colts have everything wrapped up. Well, except for the whole perfect season thing...

couldn't agree more Moe. The Dolphins beating SD today was my early Christmas present. Now the Chargers HAVE to win that game. I was going to take them anyway, but now that they are in an absolute must-win I will probably be hitting them pretty hard. I'll also put a little sumpin' sumpin' on the ML too. I think they win outright.

Also, didnt SD secondary get smoked a couple times today? Easy picking for Indy.

Killrus,

You're right, Indy plays very well at home and SD has a weak pass D. They do, however, have the #1 run D. Don't get me wrong, I think Indy will put some points on the board. But I think SD will put a lot of points up too. I think it will be a close game, and I think SD will edge Indy out.

Moe,

You make a good point... the public is so in love with Indy right now that they will probably jump all over them, causing the line to go up. If it opens at anything OVER 7 though, I am not going to wait. Then if it goes up from there, I may put a little more on it.

Niiiiice. Unfortunately, I don't use Pinny. My book is probably one of the last ones to post them. Frigging a-holes.

+8 at pinny

.... and the books wonder why favorites are hitting at an obscene rate this year. sure the chargers may cover, but that line is puzzling.

Gman,

Do you think -8 is low? Don't get me wrong, I think Indy is a VERY good team. But I also think SD is a very good team as well. And given the situation, I don't think the books want to pump the Colts up too much.

i think san diego is fully capable of winning outright. they can run the football, theyve got a great tight end, and (if im not mistaken) they nearly won outright at indy last year.

but what i think is going to happen in the game itself is exclusive from what the line should be, given the way the colts have been obliterating numbers this year.

the books could put indy in double digits and thats not going to deter the squares from hammering the colts at home. so what good does it do to open it at 8? that doesnt even give any help to the books for teasers either, because it still can be teased down to the dead numbers of 1, 1.5, and 2.

yeah, that's a great point. I wasn't taking that into account. I'll have a little of that chunk myself.

Im biased no doubt, and I predicted at halftime of the first game this year we would be 15-1 with our only loss to San Diego. Alot has changed since then. I dont see any way you could logically wager money against this team? Are you telling me you cant find a better spot to bet with 15 other games? I got news for ya, the Colts arent gonna lose at home and Dungys press conference after the game, he said its business as usual, so all starters play. Save your money, quit being a hater.
